I used to have a decent social life... I don't know what happened to it...<.<
You've just made me think. As much as I do go out when I have the money and whatever, since becoming an adult and doing jobs and all that, my social life has dramatically gone down hill. It still exists, but nothing like it ever was :(
it never is, i'm still in uni at the moment so I still have my share of hazy nights followed by rough mornings, but even i've noticed a decline as the years have passed, won't be long before i'm sitting in a arm chair reading the paper and sighing, lamenting the loss of all that fun i used to have.

EDIT: actually i've just figured out that the gym is to blame, i used to have a lot more fun before i went there every day.

Is the way I like it. Nobody bothering. Unless it's close friends, work and family. But I pretty much live the internet-social-life, except I keep most at a BIG distance. It's a hell of a life... so many challenging possibilities and information about everything. Just pick one and go, which is the way I like it.

Man, if I could, I'd just upload myself there. On a second thought, would need to lose real life people first, though. So, it's too much for me to think how much would it be for them. So, damn. Can't upload.

These immersive games are the future. It's all I believe in. Putting minds together to make something big everyone else can appreciate is the way we, as humanity, should be going. Weird stuff I'm saying, but it's just an (coffee-induced) inspiration rush going through now. LOL.

P.S.
Oh, and excessive social sites suck. Yes, I mean YOU, Facebook-and-similar. Man, it's so convoluted I'd drop a nuke on it.

When you're not on the escapist, internet, playing games, work/school; what do you do?
Does that also include Manga, Anime, books and Visual Novels?
If so, then I do loads and loads of stuff!
If not.
Then...
Uhh....
Chatting on MSN?
[sup]With people from the Escapist...[/sup]
Anyway, if none of that counts then I truly cannot say I care. It's what I love to do. It's more fun to me than being with people who aren't into my type of things can ever be.

I would like a proper social life, but my Freudian excuse is that I don't think I have money to interact with people outside the internet, except for a couple of people, mostly on holidays.

It blows having a broad-band connected social life.

Social life? Why would I have a social life when there is no one worth spending time with? These forums are the closest thing that I have to one. Sure, I have friends at school, but that's really only at school, and I usually just end up being left out of the conversation, anyway.

i have no life rly, i go to class, come back, to my dorm room, sometimes do homework right away(most of the time i put it off) and just nerd it up.

Once a week i do have a Gears of War Tourney with a few of my friends, we all cram into some1's room and have 2v2v2v2 matches.

I never had a social life until i was about 17 then i actually spoke to people.

But to be honest the people i became freinds with are fairly dull. All they are interested in drinking at the weekend. NOTHING during the week. I need a bit of veriety and excitement in my life, i don't want to live in Groundhog Day.

Plus they have no interest in trying to speak to new people or females so any chance of me meking new friends or meeting a girl when i'm with them is quite low.
I feel like I know you, like we've been living the same life...That's just surreal.

I never had a social life till I was about 16, when I was dragged out by one of my friends at school. The group used to be pretty big back then and it used to be a laugh.

One by one the group began to fall away untill only 3 of us were left. We do nothing during the week, at the weekends if we do meet up it's to drink. I have no confidence, the other guy of the 3 has no confidence and the girl is quite happy with the group as it is. As a result, we don't meet/talk to new people and meeting a girl is a virtual imposibility.

It's left me feeling quite hollow to be honest, that for so many years now everything has been the same, hell when we do go out it's always to the same bar.

It's in a ditch somewhere. Sorry, no it's not. Well...kinda not.

I tend to go out at weekends with a close mate and spend nearly every night chatting to my girl-friend through the PM system here and texting, plus PMing a couple of friends on here as well. Not much but it stops me from going mad.

Do you go out, or would you much rather stay in and keep yourself to yourself?

I love going out on the weekends to gigs or the pub for drinks with friends, but sone weekends I just think "I cannot be arsed" and would much rather stay in all weekend doing nothing but play games or sit on the laptop and generally slob out with TV and crap food.
Pretty much exactly the same, though I have enough work most weeks that it spills into the weekend at least a little. Also rock climbing in my spare time.

Skimming this thread pretty much confirms my suspicions about most of the Escapist community though.

I go out to skate with friends during the weekdays and on the weekends I hang out with my non skater friends. Its a good combo of getting drunk and having fun.

I've all but moved in with my gf, and I regret that some of my friendships have dissipated because of it. Shes done a good job of introducing me to her group of friends though, and that helps. I play guitar in a fairly active band, and spend a decent amount of time with my bandmates. I'll drink occasionally - usually only at parties or the bar.

My social activity has increased of late. I usually go out to the movies or something with my friends about once a week, during the holidays, which is alot more then last holidays. Also call and msn them if that counts.

I occasionally go out with friends but it usually involves drinking, Dont get me wrong I like drinking but dont wanna do it all the time, Plus I dont like relying on people to get it for me since im not 18.

So, Mostly sit in and play Videogames, maybe draw, but college has taken the fun outta drawing so i dont draw as often as i used to.

I hang out with friends mainly on the weekends. Too much schoolwork during the week. When I finish my schoolwork there isn't enough time to go out so I just play video games.

Hmm... I am intrigued... What is this, 'social life' you speak of, my good man?
That made laugh for 5 minutes straight.

My social life consists of school and more school. Few friends but precious ones and the ocasionnal outing. My gang consists of the people that have gathered under the banner of "studying Japanese for the betterment of videogames, anime and manga". Imagine 15 geeks storming cafes, bars and restaurants with good humor, l33t speak and a lot of fucking laughs... Yes.. WE ARE SO AWESOME.

That's a pretty apt description of what I do too. Sometimes im in the mood for going out as well as visiting a friend and play games or just hang out. At others I just don't feel like it so I stay at home and find something to do on my own.
