For a while, I didn't give much of a crap, brushed my teeth 1-2 times every 2-3 days. After I got my braces off though, I started brushing twice a day. I still do, however, I only floss about once a week.

I think mine are pretty strong, I always drank a lot of milk as a kid and still do. They're in pretty nice shape! I had braces as a kid cos they went a bit out of line, after that I really started looking after them.

Always brush and use mouthwash, never bothered to floss though. Is flossing really that important do you think?

I have had every kind of orthodontics possible: Headgear, palate expander, braces, retainer. >_< So far no cavities, which is amazing because I'm always drinking soda and i only brush my teeth once a day.

I brush and Listerine every morning. I floss, but I'm a bit lazy about it, so it only happens once every 2 weeks or so.

I'm English... Say No More! XD

Yes I know I'm a sterotype so what some of them are right you know thats how they got there in the first place!

Disclaimer: But seriously British dental is a lot more efficient now and the orthodontic work in braces are much better!

Yeah, knowing how many British folks are on the Escapist, I was really hoping that none of them would take this thread as a jab against them - that was definitely not the intent! There are people with perfect teeth and shitty teeth on both sides of the pond, I'm sure.

Yea, I've had braces. And now I have a retainer... Not my fault I had crooked teeth. As for their condition... Well, I brush twice a day, rarely floss, and rarely use mouthwash. I could take better care of my teeth, but I enjoy taking care of other things, like my personal life. That sounds dumb, I know, but there's no tooth problem that a visit to a dentist can;t fix, even if it includes losing a tooth.

I never knew there was some kind of stereotypical english teeth .. Now I do

Mine however are ... Somewhat okay. They are quite discoloured. but perfectly aligned. And I've never worn any braces. When I was a kid I used to brush like ... Once a week or something. I was a real moron back then. Now I brush twice a day. I would like to brush more, but the protection .. I would like to keep it. There are some times, though. Some times I forget to brush before I go to bed. Or I just can't be arsed to do so.

They are something between dark yellow and dark white. Not a pretty sight (Luckily the rest of me are XD Sorry. I just had to). The good thing, though is that even though I was crap at brushing my theeth when I was younger, it barely had any side affect. I've had two holes. But they were covered nicely. I'm not sure what floss is, but I'm guessing it's .. When you put this thing between your teeth. So. I try to start doing that, but it's hard, damnit.

They tell me that I have to remove my wisdom teeth. Wich is crap, since I have to do it within the age of twenty. Wich means I have to do it right away when I come home. Wich means I have to choose between buying myself an Xbox or upgrade my computer with a new graphics card, and processor. I can't do both =(

My teeth are pretty and straight, but it took way too much work.

I have had braces for 2 years, then a pallet expander, then they came off, then I had 1 tooth removed. Then 2 more years of braces. Then 8 teeth removed, then 4 (my baby teeth never fell out save for maybe 3). Then the braces came off and I had a thing that looked like a mouth guard that I had to wear for 12 hours out of the day. My orthodontist asked if I wanted to get a metal retainer, or if I wanted an invisible set. Guess which one I picked? Here's a hint, I was the only member of my senior graduating class with braces.

I brush... other than that, I really should floss, but I generally don't. I've never had anything wrong with my teeth yet though.

I brush my teeth and tongue thoroughly every school morning and every three or four holiday mornings, when my mouth just feels rancid. I don't floss, as I hate it. Even though my teeth aren't particularly white, they're not a very bold shade of yellow. In fact, they're a relatively light shade of yellow. I'd like for them to be white, but until I get some disposable income and start buying whitening strips, I can deal with it.

The surprising thing is that my teeth are still very healthy and strong. I've never had a cavity or any tooth problem, sans two slightly crooked lower front teeth I was born with and still have today. Perhaps I'll straighten them in adulthood, but they're barely noticeable.

I suppose I don't quite fit into the stereotype of Southerners in the U.S. Then again, dramatically few Southerners actually do fit the stereotype.

I have one that has turned black and should be falling out soon. I chipped it a year ago and never got a crown, so it's dead.

Flossing gets more important the older you get. Damage to teef is cumulative, so breaking up the bacterial colonies between teeth every day does wonders for your molars.

I wash* them when I remember, usually evenings. Mornings? Not since I was 6. Now, 12 years later, I've got near perfect teeth and so far only one cavity.

*that rather hilarious misuse of words can stay there.

My dentist always compliments me on my teeth - better than having them pull out the guilt trip about eating lollies. I was lucky in that I never needed braces, so while my teeth might be a little wonky they don't develop caries which is fantastic news. I usually brush twice a day, don't care about flossing. They stay alright without it so who cares?

Your comments made me floss and think about flossing regularly.

I can quite honestly say that I have great teeth. Wasn't easy though, I had braces for two year and I've had a total of eight teeth removed. I brush twice a day and my teefs are loverly.
Sounds like me - except I only had 6 teeth removed and my braces were on for almost three years. Oh, to be 12 again... =)
