So, Ive been playing monster hunter tri alot online.
and ive noticed there are a few different kinds of people when it comes to friend requests.
1.)random friend requests, when they first see you.
2.)"srry, i no take friends lol" types
3.)people who play with you for a while, then send a request
4.)people you know in real life
etc. etc.

When it comes down to it, I only end up playing with the same 3 people(HI ZK!! HI NUM!! HI MM!!), even though my requests thing is almost filled.
and when I went to my freinds house and watched him play CoD4, I noticed his friend list thing was filled, but he said he only ever played with the same 4-6 poeple as well.
I dont know why, but this entrigues me for some reason.
any thoughts??
how are you when it comes to friend requests?
do you accept them all or turn them all down?

I get friend requests all the time from random people and I request to be friends with people I've only met a few times but I don't really care. If I like 'em, I like 'em and if they like me, I have no qualms with it.

If i get a friend request out of the blue i tend to message the person and talk to them a bit before i accept it.

I like knowing who im friends with because it helps me keep in touch with them.
Iv got to many Friends on here that i haven't talked to in a while.

Though once i talk to a person i don't mind being their friend, i don't think iv ever turned anyone down before.

I've had a few from people on Xbox live, but I always tell them the same thing

"I don't want to be your friend, fuck off"

It has got me a few complaints

I only add people after playing with them a while, and I have to actually enjoy playing with them. I have a decent number (60ish) of friends on steam but only play with a handful regularly. Most of them, I just havent played with since adding. I accept all adds currently, but I wouldn't if i got them a lot.

I mostly accept them, because hey, who doesn't like having friends?
I only really send a request when I've played with someone for a while/ work well with them

Well, when I play online, I try to play with my real-life friends.

Of course, they usually aren't online, so I just go into quickmatch, but I usually add the person if they ask. It doesn't mean I have to play with them, right?

I... don't get a lot of friend requests, strangely.

I like them. They always boost my ego and raise my self-esteem.

I have around 90 friends on Live and 15 here, but I only hang with around 8 of them.

I don't friend people unless I actually talked to them and found them a good team mate or opponent. I don't accept random friend invites, nor do I randomly send them.

My policy on facebook is that if I know them in real life (not matter if it was just a casual "hello" in the hallway) I'll say yes to friend requests. Here on the Escapist, I'll friend anyone who asks (hint hint)

I don't really get that much random friend requests, on the escapist at least.
On youtube i still have 70 friend requests un-answered. I collect them since they are all random.

On the escapist i only request people being really awesome, i get the same when i say something really awesome.

Depends on how random. If its cause they saw me...and thats why, no. But if they saw me and maybe something I said or minor relate to, then maybe. There just has to be something to maybe build a friendship on. I regularly clean my friendlists in things too, so if I feel theres no hope, bye. (Not on Escapist though)

I don't mind them, just don't see the point in them. I accept requests just for the sake of easier contact most of the time.

I just hate it when people whore it in your face as if it makes them seem more popular. Like "Hey look i have 900000 friends on Facebook and MSN", how many do they talk to? About 2.
If i really wanted to i could spend the rest of my life raking up random friend requests across the internet and it wouldn't make it anymore popular.

With the exception of Xbox Live, my attitude tends to be "eh, why not?". If anything, it help reassure me that I'm not a figment of my own imagination.
Unless it's obvious spam.

On XBL, however, then unless they give me a good reason (or if they're friends with someone I know who can vouch for them) then it's bye-bye.

I think it's silly, because even in real life I don't consider someone a friend unless it's someone I really like hanging out with. Fortunately I have never been flooded with random friend requests, probably because I'm so ridiculously unloveable it's immediately noticeable even from the internet so awesome people believe they can never be worthy of my friendship.

I usually accept them if they come. Chances are they will be playing a game that I have if we have played once before and will play again. Though I have got a few spammers which I had to delete and block

Random people I either ignore or invite to play with me to test them. I always friend people in games that make me work to win or kick me into the ground (as long as they are cool about it). I will only friend you once you pass the cool test and the gameplay test.
