Irish Parents who live in Arabia. My home town is just hanging onto being half non-immigrants despite being nowhere near any ports. Racism is rampant - but it's often the "neighbour racism" rather than "institutional racism".

Just a quick explanation:
"Neighbour Racism" : I live next door to X, so I know what all X are like.
"Institutional Racism" : I've never met an X, but TV/God/Sense tells me that X are scum.

All the Xs are in such big groups though that no X ever gets to be top dog, which is lucky.

I have some mild racists in my family, and it's frustrating to live with the fact that no arguing or logic can convince them to rethink their positions. The most backwards aspects of pre-1970's Pennsylvania Slate Belt culture is nothing to proudly embrace.

Real life not really, WoW I openly discriminate against blood elves and gnomes and now goblins, they just aint right.
More right than burger meat (living, but still, burger meat) being a playable race?

I assume you mean racist whites? You know something, I've met so many more genuinely racist minorities than I have white people you'd be astonished. The shit I've heard from some arab or indian guys is ridiculous.

yeah I've been to America.

no but seriously there are racists in every country, everytown, all across the world.

its kinda ironic because racists come in all different colours and races, and they are all united in their xenophobia lol

English racists hate muslims atm, not because extremists bombed us but because "they come over here taking our jobs and political correctness gone mad blah"

they just hate because they see brown people and dont understand them.

When i was in highschool i was told not to hang out with a Filipino girl because "you don't mix the races". To be fair, the guy who said it wasn't a bad guy, just an idiot, and it was how he was raised.

I also applied for a government job, and found out that the quota of aborigional employees had not been met so they couldnt hire me. The Interviewer went on his own little tangent about how Aborigionals are the scum of the earth.

I have met lots of racists and have even been on the receiving end myself.

talking with a racist about anything meaningful is like trying to explain scientific method to fundamentalist religious nuts.
This is pretty much my attitude as well.

Been around lots in boarding school, actually. Firstly in Singapore, a Malaysian fucker who made his life mission to make mine as miserable as possible, (I'm Eurasian) stirring up as many people against me as he could. Just before I left that place I broke his glasses and his nose (and I have been in about 3 fights my whole life, so this was a big thing for me ok).

Also witnessed a lot in Western Australia, some really rampant racism going on there, towards Asians, from Asians, and the whole society in general towards and from Aboriginals. From wild verbal abuse, to actual beatings. Not much you can do, except try to get along with everyone...

I think racists are the stupidest people on this Earth. Every thing on this planet is connected. Thanks to the sequencing of the human genome, we now know that we really are all the same.
Actually, I recently read in a science magazine that they've found proof that the people who migrated out of Africa actually interbred with Neanderthals. This of course indicates that the "purest" members of Homo Sapiens are black Africans. I find this amusing =D Take that Aryan supremacists!

OT: Well, as a white kid in an immigrant-rich neighbourhood I had some so-called cracker jokes directed at me. Of course I also had a friend in 2nd grade who decided to go around calling all the immigrant kids bad names; I thought this was kinda stupid seeing as he was half-Chilean himself. My exact words were, "I'm a [bad name], you're a [bad name], stop calling people [bad name] it's not nice!" (my mother was an Irish immigrant, so at age 8 my child logic insisted that [bad name that doesn't translate well into English] could be referred to me too)

Oh and my Irish grandmother was a bit of a racist. When my big sister briefly dated an South American fellah she near disowned her. She would have had a field day with my brother's Pakistani live-in girlfriend...

Damn, 4 AM. Off to bed with me!

I have. I would loosely describe him as "my father". He's said most everything one can think of when it comes to racism. Needless to say, we don't converse with one another.

Sometimes I think my brother is the biggest racist I have ever met. I just joke with him about it and secretly pray no one I respect hears him talk.

Actually, I don't think I have. Huh.

I've heard tons of stories, but I've never actually met a racist person IRL.

The closest I can think of was me in grade two, where I was afraid to touch the Hispanic kid because I was concerned the color would come off on me. I doubt that counts, because I learned how melanin works in grade three and never thought about it again.

yes i have one of my friends are
I tend to ignore him when he starts making remarks like that
With most racists i tend to argue with them, though it normally gets nowhere.
