Now Grolsch is a worthy beer, I grew up with that stuff! I didn't know it was exported out of the Netherlands.
It's available all over the world, but it's usually brewed under licence rather than imported; it certainly is in the UK.

My three favourites:

1: Rodenbach Grand Cru
2: Heather Ales Fraoch (when it's on form)
3: Cantillon Gueuze

Notice how there's not a single American beer in that list there?
We only export the terrible ones, saving the best for ourselves :D

Amstel beer? You mean the Dutch Amstel beer brewed in the Netherlands? Sorry but I think that stuff is horrible- well not horrible but in my humble opinion there are many beers out there far superior. Even Heineken is better, still not a very good beer but at it won't give me a direct headache.

Hmm sorry, didn't want to sound as a jerk, but I just had to express my serious dislike for Amstel, to save future souls, you know.
When I vacation in Greece, the only time I can drink seeing as I'm 15, the usual's are Heineken, Amstel, and Corona. Along with others that are overly expensive like 8 euro for a beer while Amstel is only 2. I like Amstel because it tastes better than the others. heineken in my opinion is really bitter and Corona makes me feel fruity. Amstel is my way to go

Dude... I don;'t even care if this is a double post I have to respond. American beer, is for girls. What's it got? like 3-4% alcohol content? I'd have to drink 30 of the fricken things. how could you possibly make that statement with a straight face. American beer is the worst in the world, ppl know.

edit - nice, no dble post, muahahahahah

Truth. Our microbrews are where it's at, and obviously they won't be exported.

Ahh I see. :) I do wonder if your taste will change over time. I used to hate bitter beers (even though I didn't consider Heineken very bitter, that may just be the difference in export though). And what's wrong with feeling fruity? Sounds.. rather.. well, healthy, full of vitamins and generally well coloured!

In Greece whenever you order a Corona you have to be served by these guys

Though given your love of high-gravity beers, surely you appreciate this American classic:

Fruity you say.. I didn't know that meaning, but some research did the trick. I see what you mean. I didn't know corona was infamous in that way. It looks rather tasty on a bright sunny day in Greece.

Well as much as list threads are not really liked, I really like beer.

Top three for me are:

1. Yo Ho (Pirate Ninja beer! I shit you not. Had it once and can't find it now though.)
2. Carlsberg Export.
3. Budweiser.

Anything from redhill brewery (shhh, that counts as one).
Umm, Hoegaarden crand cru I guess, narrowly getting in over (other) local nice things. oh no no, I meant 4 ducks, 4 ducks is awsome ^^

In the interest of multiculturalism, instead of the beer based xenophobia that seems to be going on here I will pick three from different countries, in no particular order because they are all very good:

Mythos (Greece)
London Pride (England, also only if you get it in London, it doesn't travel well!)
Kingfisher (India)

I tried to pick reasonably well known ones, there's no point picking my favorite local microbrewery contribution because nobody will know what it is!

To people suggesting things like Amstel, Heineken, Bud, Miller etc. Bad Dog, get in the yard! All lagers like that are utterly interchangeable, don't get me wrong, I like those beers (except Heineken) they are perfectly easy to drink but they are no the best.
