I'm generally the same online, although when I have the time to think and type out my responses, I feel I get my thoughts out more clearly. Thus, unless you are a close friend that I'm really comfortable with so I can easily find my words, a lot of my more hard to explain thoughts don't come up as often. Although I'm getting better at doing that on the fly, since I can usually explain my thoughts in the real-o-sphere a lot better after I've typed them up in some way on this forum or something.

Of course there's a lot of me missing when I'm just communicating in text. I'm a pretty strange guy. I act really surreal, especially with people I'm comfortable with.

I don't really know, I don't know who or what the real me is but I think that how i act here on the escapist is more like the true then in real life sometimes. My 'being' on the internet sometimes get affected by my feelings but i try to stay as normal as i can.

Iam pretty much the same, i like to mucking around and making silly comments and some times iam damn serious to, but my problem is that i do say things on here that i say in the real world but here some people take offence which i dont mean becouse it is hard to put tone across with words which survilly fustrats me and i also cant spell for less then shit, i dont use some more complex words i use in the real world i dont use on here becouse i cant spell them and im to lazy to look them up.
If i do say something silly im ether having a joke or iam just mucking around with you

I tend to share my thoughts and how I feel more often online. I argue alot in meatspace, and it wastes alot of time. Forum arguements allow me to take my time and consider things and not shout. Though, on the other hand, I avoid arguing alot more online....but I am at least as terribly inconsistent in both meatspace and cyberspace!

I guess I'm a little more open on the internet, I have no problems talking to different people. I do change my personality in real life as well when I'm around certain people. I'm a little bit crazy, but I bottle that up with most people.

On the internet I don't care as much what people think so I become a bit more confident.
But my logical negativity and brutal honesty makes me sound like a douche. That's all about myself I can really think of. It's hard to describe oneself.

But here, it's easier to ask questions or to vent some of the anxiety and anger that I battle in daily life. I don't feel like a burden... maybe because I'm fairly anonymous among this crowd.

I second this, and the latter statement as well.

I think that online I'm more true to myself than I am in real life. Here on The Escapist and with some friends online I can share the things I care about. That makes me seem a lot more open and friendly than I might seem in real life.

As pretty much nobody shares my interests around me, so I seem a lot more closed and, well, dull. But I don't think I am, I just have the misfortune to be alone in the things I care about. This is not the case on the internet.

Also, because here there are people like me, I find it easier to share my pains and the things I'm going through. Might even get some good advice or something else out of it, this crowd is a lot more understanding.

Thanks to those things I have found more companionship and made more friends online than I ever did in real life. I even found love in cyberspace, the girl I never even dared dreaming of, thanks to the web (more specifically, thanks to The Escapist). It hurts like a ***** but I still believe it could be worth every single second of pain.

Believe it or not I'm probably a bit more calm, mature and responsible online than in real life.

Typing comments usually gives you the chance to think them through a lot more.

I used to think that my "true self" was more obviously seen online than in the real world since I have tended to suppress my real self in the real world. Now though... well actually its still true. The only difference is that I pretty much am suppressing my true self everywhere now.

I can really be honest here, safe in the knowledge that no one here knows me in real life. Not that I need to hide from real life or anything, it is just a nice place to hangout when my friends are busy or I don't feel like gaming.

As for my personality here? Much the same as my real life personality but a little less restrained when it comes to goofiness and declaring loyalties to a certain team.

I'm pretty much the same person here as I am in real life. There are a few differences, though. In real life, I'm shy, and I usually keep to myself, which sometimes leads to my stress levels reaching critical mass. That results in me not having such a good self-esteem. You know how when you make friends, you go up to them and start talking to them? I'm terrible at that. I tend to mumble, trip over my words, so I don't talk to people that often. You'd probably think that means I have no friends. But, it just means most of the friends I've made in real life came up to me and started talking to me, leading to us becoming friends.
