Hey all,

Don't know why I started this, just curious, I guess. Title is self-explanatory: what do you do? For how long? And yes, sports do count.

Personally:

In the fall I run cross-country, which is a workout in itself. On any day we can go 5-6 miles in less than an hour for a practice. My best 3.1 mile time is 17:39.

In the winter I erg for preseason Crew. For those who have never erged: don't. It's miserable. Anyway, as a welterweight (138 pounds), I usually burn about 700 calories in a steady-pace workout and 500 in sprints. The sprints are either short and fast as hell, or twice as long and a few seconds slower per 500 m. Believe it or not, that second option is actually the more miserable of the two. For steady-pace I either go 50-60 minutes at a fairly slow pace with high power or 10,000+ meters with moderate pace, fairly high power.

After this I go and lift. The system I use is 50/20: 50 reps, 20 minutes. Simple, and a good way to end a tiring workout. The days alternate between goblet squats with 75 pound weights or pushups/pullups with 15 pound weight in my legs. Each day ends with an abs circuit.

In the spring I row. The workouts are usually pretty tough. Rowing 10k on a lake in choppy water is taxing mentally and physically. Honestly, I can't give any certain workout because they're all different. However, as an example, one of them was the triathlon: 5k rowing, 2 miles running, about 200 meters swimming (that last part might be off, I don't know the length of the water). My boat came in second out of eight with a time of 40 minutes.

However, I am now injured, so my entire schedule is thrown off. I now usually just run for about 40 minutes at a fast pace or elliptical for the same amount of time. The elliptical is harder, but running is just something I love to do, so I usually do that.

Soccer, 2-4 km walking per day, with a 10 lb backpack, and I'm going to start biking once the weather gets good enough to do so.

And I might use the elliptical trainer once we get it assembled. XD

I don't do much exercise, except for cycling a lot. Mainly to and from work (about one mile, up and down big hills) three evenings a week, but I've also started going for longer distance journeys like into the city centre or to the countryside areas on the outskirts of my city. I also walk a fair bit, though I also sleep a lot so they kind of balance each other out I guess. And I don't do this very often, but I do enjoy climbing, and playing tennis...

No matter what anyone says this guy already won the thread.

Anyway, I usually do around 30 mins of cardio (usually with a bike) and then do around 18 weight exercises at 4 sets of 10 reps. Of course, this is done at a Gym. Takes me around two hours to finish my routine, or two hours and a half, depends a lot.

I wake up and walk around the house...

If I have classes, then I walk to and from them...

God damn, I don't do much. I actually do intend to start playing tennis when it gets a little warmer out.

What I used to do:

3-mile run/jog/hike up and down nature trails, swimming, martial arts, walking everywhere.

What I do now:

"Holy fuck! Is that pie?!"
"Oh, man...stairs."
"Gotta get up in the morning...aw, shit, I'm tangled in my sheets. Hello again, pillow."

As much as I can of whatever needs doing. Sit ups one day, weights the next... the occasional run. Regular excercise is for people who enjoy it or seriously need it and neither applies to me.

walking and chasing a 4 yr old hyperactive boy.

If chasing a preschooler doesnt whip your ass into shape, you aren't keeping up!

I have a pet brick, I use it as a dumbbell, and do reps while sitting at the computer working and listening to epic music to psyche me up. It is surprisingly heavy.

I also cycle a lot, and live about a mile from uni, so I walk to and from class whenever it's on.

I play roller hockey twice a week over the spring, which is great. I also do random ab workouts, usually crunches or the bicycle thing. Oh, and lots of walking with a damn heavy backpack.

I don't really have a routine. I usually just do whatever I want whenever I feel like it. This consists of running around outside with my dog and listening weights. I've been pretty lazy recently though, I should get more exercise.

I don't work out per se, I just ride a bike everywhere, and go mountain biking a lot, so I'm in pretty good shape. Without wanting to sound like I'm bragging, I've been having quite a lot of sex recently and that's really quite good exercise.
