I swear, I think I've seen you made a couple of threads like this before.

Anyway, finally obtained Beyond Good & Evil for the PC and it's flipping awesome.
My grandmother survived a serious spine operation and can walk without pain now, couldn't have wished for any thing better.
I've started a new course and it's every thing I hoped it would be.
In about a weeks time, I get to go to my first wedding (someone elses, duh) and I've always wanted to experience one.
My boss increased my pay not too long ago for some reason.

My life is fine. I have no idea what cynacism you're talking about exactly, but it hasn't effected me yet. I get sick of all the assumptions, generalisations and labels though. That's how you start a war!

I think it has more wit than you give it credit for...its one of the funnyer games Ive ever played

I got Command and Conquer Generals/Zero Hour working again without Origin (I really don't want to have to have two clients running to play muh games...old disks so it's legal)

My best friend has finally gotten his Fiance's Visa so he can finally stay in the U.S and (soon) start working with his wife.

I recently got Ghost Recon: Future soldier for cheap on Steam ($20 for EVERYTHING, in Aus, very nice), that was very nice, even if it's unoptimized, always online and buggy as hell.

I don't owe people money now (namely parents) so I can try to save again.

Oh, and I found a new band to listen to.

This is my 5th year on the escapist and I've got less than 1000 points; simply because I don't bother with many of the people here.

Many people are jaded and cynical; out of laziness, or they've just given up, or they never tried, or they're just lonely and don't know any better.
Jaded opinions - unless you've lead a very similar life, are unpleasant, unwanted, and unnecessary.
The other issue I've found is everybody's so focused on separating good will, faith, subjectivity and the relativism of others; because 'the only way to be a decent human being is to have a cold conversation of which everything that is stated MUST be able to be verified and proven by every other person reading.'

Honestly? Fuck that. That's not how life works. That's not how life 'should' work. The system is fucked; but it works. Life isn't as boring for everybody, as it is for you. Some people have to deal with intense shit - that's just what they've got to do, not everything can be proven - and you're just going to have to deal with that.
I'm more sick of the hardcore depressed lonely gamer science fanatic than I am of the hipster pious guy with a pious girlfriend who just accepts it and moves on.

I could leave the forum; but I'm not. I like some of the stuff presented, I like reading some of the discussions, and I like watching Zero Punctuation.

I am struggling to be happy these days. I bought KotOR 2 and downloaded some mods just to help me out of my depression, but it isn't doing much. Overall my life has gone to shit in the last few months. I feel like my cynicism is somewhat justified.

I agree with you completely on this, I like the new DMC, and am an ME fan, even after 3 and loved Borderlands 2 as well, I found it witty and awesome to play with my flat mates.

Also, I love your new avatar, Dog giving it to Vault boy XD Funnily enough, my grandad recently gave me one of the Footrot Flats book collections, I've been having fun reading them.

A good thing has happened to me: I've finally found enough people I know to commit to a Pathfinder campaign with me as the GM I have lots of fun stuff planned, adventures already made so it's going to be a blast.
