Excuse the meme.

I just realised recently, while typing out an assignment or university, that I have been spelling significant as signifigant for the last 20 years of my life. Spell checker just alerted me, and now I feel like a real idiot. No one has corrected me before now, thank you trusty mechanical intelligence.

What have you been doing incorrectly, and only recently realised?

Pronouncing half the shit in anime wrong. Or more often, right, but thinking I'm wrong.

I've never really been able to master the monkey bars. My feet touched the ground while I was doing them since like 5th grade. So I never figured out how to do it right.

I feel so stupid now. I also just learned how to spell "significant."

I get this feeling when I read a lot of forum posts. The urge to correct is a strong one indeed.

It's funny to rewatch old Simpsons and South Park episodes and realise how many references and jokes went over my head as a child.

I kept expecting to be able to get my word in through verbal debate, outside of the Internet where I can write long posts without any interruption. Big mistake. Only formal debates allow for a proper amount of time.

And you were correct the first time. Google it. The "r" goes before the "p". You're doing it wrong right now.

I can not spell "successful" correct - I often end up putting one "c"; the second one just seems so excessive....

Looking at this, seems your not the only one to spell it that way. I get the feeling some countries actually spell it like that (ok so im probably wrong on that).

OT: I usually spell lots of things wrong.

This for one thing is a common mistake for me.

I realize that it might be wrong, but I can't stop.
This is another thing...

The list is endless so i wont bother telling you them all. But i do remember in a spelling test in middle school, we had to spell colour. Well i went and forgot the U and put "color" as in the American way. I actually still got the mark because as far as the teacher was concerned, it might not have been the British spelling, but it was still the correct spelling in another country.

No, he used to put the 'r' after the 'p'.

OT: It turns out I've been pronouncing a lot of stuff wrong. I used to pronounce "Elfen Lied" as "Lee-ed". Oh and I pronounce "David Bowie" as "Bow-ey".

You're wrong at telling me that I am wrong. "Surprisingly" is the correct version.

Let's see...
Definetely - Definitely
Suprise - Surprise
Wether - Whether
Wierd - Weird

I hate those little mistakes you repeat for decades and then someone decides to point out it's wrong.
"You mean I just wasted 17 years of my life being illiterate!? And NOW you decide to tell me about it?!"
-on a second thought, I almost spelled illiterate wrong. :p

slightly off topic: I only realized that I have a lazy eye last year. I had an eye operation when I was 4 to make it not look lazy. I had to wear an eye patch for a week and I remember having a pirate party. It was awesome. Anyways, I remember the operation and such but I never really understood what was going on. Last year at Christmas my family were eating at a restaurant and we were talking about driving. I was explaining how I find it really difficult to see out of both eyes at the same time. I mean, they can both see at the same time, but I'm only ever focusing on one. My Mum just turns to me and says "um... that's because we've both got lazy eyes. Do you not remember the operations when you were young?". I was so fucking surprised.

Ummm the OP and your post note that the correct spelling is SURPRISINGLY. So you're both right...
Failing to see the confusion here. Also it should be noted that there is an R both before and after the P.

OT: Nerdy but I used to think Atrocitus was pronounced ATROW-CY-TUS and not ATRAW-SIT-US.

Wasting my live staring in front of some window to the world when in reality I'm just getting lazier and fatter as I loose myself to this virtual age where life only means something if you can put in 140 characters or less.

That's what I realized today.
