I intend to cause some serious damage with the lowest chance of dying, sniper/ UAV pilot. Either way I am miles from the bullets.

Considering the fact that Im an actual soldier, Id have to say that 90% of people thrown into a warzone would cower in the fetal position and urinate on themselves.
This, oh god this.

Or if you want me to pick an actual role? Ordinance Engineer. One of the guys I went to 6th form with does this as a living, and absolutely loves it. Plus, it'd give the satisfaction of knowing that your work is helping fuck shit up somewhere unlucky.

That's easy, Sniper or intelligence liaison, that way I can pick off the enemy at long range (of which I prefer and can only really do and am only good with single shot rifles) or help the ground troops from the back

Astronaut to repair and maintain our orbital missile systems. Hope there aren't any EMP attacks...
Except that since there are naturally occuring EMP's in space, most satllites are EMP-proof.
I know, but what if I'm doing a space walk?
Most space-based equipment is EMP-proof, again because of natural EMP's, and EMP's rarely affect humans. So you should be fine.
I'll admit I don't know how accurate this is but I'm talking about this happening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKRvjcr92i4
Oh, THAT...that is actually VERY unrealistic, on the fact alone that a shockwave cant be transmitted through a vacuum.

I'd be that guy who dies so everyone else can emote over my body. Or maybe a cook or intel officer.

Seriously, I have no illusions about my lack of real world combat abilities, unlike some of you keyboard "saboteurs" and "snipers".

Sniper. And I mean a proper sniper, not a "Hollywood Sharpshooter" that seems to be the popular misconception of what a sniper actually is, with a modest 7.62mm rifle, because a .50 cal is bloody heavy and largely impractical in most situations.

Either that or a computer tech, put my in-progress Uni degree to good use.

I think, if we're not looking at this realistically, that I would be a strategist. Hopefully sat in a cosy, warm underground bunker with a hot-chocolate (Cream, marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles (The way real men drink it)), directing all of you big war heroes into mortally dangerous situations.

In reality? I would probably end up as a decorative corpse, adding that extra warlike feel to a bombed out city or faeces covered trench somewhere....

Then that shall be my job.

I'd be the guy on the radio relaying intell and other tactically relevant information.

I'd also provide the occasional banter to lighten the mood.
