My friend and her sister team up on the Warthog like whoa. On the downside, they left me in the dust, which is understandable considering my utter suckage at Halo.

In S4, though, I'm decent when I'm on my own, but my team's always running into the opponents' spawn point. It's like lemmings with them. Plus, I'm the only healer, so I get to follow them around....

Upgrade your PC to a 2003 standard, go buy Battlefield 2 or 2142, then see how much you still like it when people spot stuff.

It does help, though.

That's one of the reasons that I don't play Halo. The community is full of uncooperative assholes who swear nonstop and don't have the slightest notion of how to work as a team. But I agree that most games have just plain assholes who won't help their team at all.

I try to play tactically too, but very rarely does anyone else. I like to think of Halo as an immature shooter. Most people are just running and gunning.

Play with your friends or people you know you can count on. Playing with random people and trying to cooperate with everyone usually doesn't work. But to be frank, you can totally be a one man unstoppable army in Halo 3. You can't do it Gears of War 2 or TF2, but you can do it in Halo 3 if you have the luck/skill necessary.

Not on the Xbox version that's for sure...

The amount of retardation I have seen is unbelievable. E.g. I join a game with 1 man on each team, the person on my team is a SPY DISGUISED AS THE ENEMY! Or our intel gets moved, and the engineers build sentries back where it should be instead of where it is. Or 4/8 of our team are Snipers! WTF!

I'm tired of people whining about me sniping them when in truth they just don't have a hand steady enough to do it back.

I play with friends, people who I know will be reliable, rather than rely on random people who would much rather I stop attempting to boss them about.

I agree. The Xbox version does seem to be infected with the stupidity virus. Bt 9/10 times I join a PC game of TF2, my team is usually talking about strategies or how to cap a point, which just brings a smile to my face.

Try out Red Orchestra. It is a very realistic WWII game, and you are basically screwed if you try to go out alone. It requires tanks to back up infantry, and vice versa or your team will be screwed.

This is for all of you Battlefield Bad Company players!

When you're a sniper, you've got a massive kill streak going (like, for me, an average kill streak with a sniper is around 10-15-20 kills) ...Meanwhile your teammates respawn on you with their MG's and just start SPRAYING THEIR ASSES OFF!!! So, long story short, the entire enemy team says, "hey look over there!" they kill your teammate, they kill you, you curse and throw your controller at an imaginary person sitting next to you.

EDIT:

If you want a game where it is literally all about strategy, try Chromehounds.

Honestly, you're best served by playing with friends as everyone else says. But keep trying to work eith your team, and if you get some proper interaction team up straight away. Probably the most magical moments are when you get matched up with someone in a warthog, and you go on a rampage, slaughtering 20 or more enemies. Verbal cues go back and forth, and you trash all the enemies vehicles as they're left staggering around outside their base, desperately hoping they can find a power weapon.

Warthogs can be a perfect union between two players, even if they're not talking.

Funny how this is the problem with left 4 dead

you team actually USES you, not you work together to succeed

so many times have i hit a hunter of someone for that person to shoot a car then sprint to the safe house, not coming back to help his team mates against the hordes that he has brought down on us

Halo is a blast fest, team works is better used in a call of duty game
I disagree. Call of Duty is all about Kill to Death, and no amount of teamwork is going to help, when a person can just spray down a room and kill 4 peoples before he empties his clip.
Agreed. Moving around as a group in Call of Duty 4 just makes it more entertaining to bring in an airstrike.

On the other hand, you can get devious bastards when you join a game on 2 Fort and the other team has colonised both intel rooms with teleporters, sentry guns and dispensers. Then they're just toying with you as you desperately try to reclaim the room.

Yeah, that's no fun either.

People call L4D tactical? Well, versus I guess, especially for the Infected. But as survivors...not so sure. Stay close, watch your back (eachothers back) and hose down shitloads of zombies. Doesn't sound so tactical to me, but incredibly entertaining \o/

My freinds and I always play tactical, calling out positions, driving vehicles, hell one of my freinds used to attend a practice session everyday. That is until he got sick of the Im better than you mentallity. I mostly play on social slayer where tactics arent a big deal and screwing around is more fun. If you are having trouble finding people who talk, play with some freinds and lead by example.

i have the same problem with team mates, i try to come up with a tactic to help but no one ever listens

every team needs a leader who is willing to tell his team what to do, even if that leader is ignored by most, the few who listen could benefit greatly.

as in try to get the few who are listening to take on bigger roles such as guarding certain points near the objective that way if they manage to get through some of them to the objective the others can close in around them.

Its not that I don't have a mike when I'm on my 360, I'm in party talking to friends, we use small group, loose team tactics. We are those three people on the team that seem to know whats going on and how its going. We work best together but I don't think we could work with a whole team...
