i dunno, NOT do that sequence? Find someone else to direct? Find an actor that actually has the body they apparently CGI'd on top of him? Use some fucking colors other than grey, brown, and smoke?
The Zeus actor is actually is that muscular, it wasn't CGI.

Then the shot composition is doing the actor a serious disservice.
I think its more of the the CGI they had on his forearms. I have no idea what that effect is meant to portray, that he has energy in them or something?

Well then whoever shot it has terrible focus or something, because he looks like the guy next to him, that seems to be wearing a greenscreen suit for his outfit, and has that "slightly disjointed head on body" look going on. He doesn't look normally positioned in those shots. I don't know if they just directed him to lilke "ok just hunch and try and flex all your muscles at once bro!" but it just doesn't look right.

Its not that his CGI looks bad, its that he looks like he's wearing a muscle suit like something out of Bill and Ted 3. It looks like he can barely move, and in keeping he barely moves.

Yeah that's basically the issue. I assumed, given he was standing right next to another person equally slightly off body-wise, that it was greenscreen suit discrepancy. But it's how he is holding his arms, his posture, how he slowly pivots his head, holds out his hand to get the axe, and then stiffly returns it. It felt like a He-Man action figure moving unbendable arms.

Well given this is Zeus, the obvious answer is it’s probably lightning. Presumably hammered into his forearms by.......I want to say Haephestus but don’t hold me to it.

I just think this is nitpicking
I'm not sure it counts as 'nitpicking' when this movie originally tanked so hard and was so hated by critics it destroyed the entire DCEU, and now 4 years later an "updated" and "improved" version costing nearly an extra 70million, which makes the total cost of this movie 820 million, and yet it still looks like Remember the Spartans. That's nitpicking, that's judging a clearly flawed from the beginning vision for this film as poor. Why does Zeus need to look that muscles and stiff and uncomfortable, if for no other reason than to ape 300 and this being some desperate last stand?

So i'm gonna see this thing this weekend, I hear its good, which honestly is a shame because its not going to save the DCEU. Its dead, has been for years, and Wonder Woman's little saunter with rape in her last movie was just the final nail in the coffin.
I'm glad Snyder is getting to release the movie he wanted to, even if a 4 hour movie would never be released in theaters and he has 4 years of rewrites and fan critiques to rework the movie. But I don't know what the point of this is. Ray Fisher is gone, Ben Affleck is gone, Henry Cavill is gone, the Wonder Woman franchise is on life support, the Flash movie is all but canceled and who knows where Hollywood is going to land on Aquaman 2.
They're already rebooting Batman and Superman, won't be long before the reboot the others and try again.
Aren't they still doing another Suicide Squad movie in the same continuity, or have they partially rebooted some of that?

Between that movie and the """Birds of Prey""" movie, I think DC is just throwing darts and seeing what sticks at this point. They obviously don't care about continuity after Wonder Woman 1984.

Seen it. Bit overlong and indulgent, innit? Also, could've done with less slow-mo. I know it's Snyder's thing, but there's so much here it loses all impact.

He probably shot the scenes with a camera specifically used for slow mo, I don't know if such footage can be changed to regular speed without looking odd. But yeah, way too much. I think he really did just use every bit of footage he had.

Given that we're assuming that a hammer was used, and that it was wielded by someone who Zeus trusts to hammer himself and his lightning... yeah probably Haephestus. Zeus let Haephestus hammer his skull open to help cure some headaches, so lightning veins or bone marrow or whatever isn't outside credulity.

An extreme sense of artifice that gives the sense that nothing on screen is real is a big part of Snyder's aesthetic. I don't know if it's an intentional part, but it is a part.

James Gunn's Suicide Squad is not the same continuity supposedly.

They didn't care long before that.
Suicide Squad saw the Joker break Harley out and the next flick was Birds of Prey where she'd broke up with him. I feel like we missed a whole long bit in-between those two events lol

What's funny is that there was no slo mo in BvS and Man of Steel.
