it's been barely half a year since everyone in Deviantart forced to switch to eclipse, I has been Deviantart member for 12 years where during my journey as Deviantart member, I notice it's downhill(in contrast to my development into better person) as the time goes and here's my gripe with Deviantart throughout my journey there:
  1. Cyberbullying: I has been bullied by those like HTFSocial Regulars(notably Innocent-darkside), Gtjerwp/SafeInternetProtocol/BasedAnon49, Ericgl1996(for myself preferring Orange Island season of Pokemon Anime over current one), and so on. even when I block one of them(SafeInternetProtocol), he coaxed me to unblock him through his youtube comment in Hitler video I made over TVtropes rejecting my Mega-crossover Magnum-opus from their site, and I fell to him there, and then there's worst days ever in internet(or at least here in deviantart) for me where this continued to even SafeInternetProtocol's block-evading. worse the Deviantart staff's incompetence makes me abstains from reporting even this(likely under the fear of they bans people like me instead), and this come to play on resorting to making Online Petition to fight off SafeInternetProtocol.
  2. Premium membership become core membership that costs more and has less features(this makes me allowing this expire for better or worse) than vanilla premium membership and recently, it has features that Art thieves tends to abuse and that's premium gallery
  3. Spambot- Hijacked old accounts faving random Deviantart posts inconsistently are bothered us (this make everyone think twice over leaving Deviantart without deactivating their accounts)
  4. old things from our childhood are forgotten there
  5. and Eclipse make Deviantart ghost town likely from this: https://www.deviantart.com/chiwowza/journal/A-List-of-Everything-Eclipse-Ruins-or-Removes-839283729
that's it so far

Who tf is Zak?
He's Zak. That's a shortening of his name.

I think he has real problems with understanding that not everyone knows the things he does. Like, if we did the Sally-Anne test, he would fail.

He says on his wikipedia page (that he linked to by way of his signature, so I'm not doxxing him or anything) that he's "High Functioning" so that probably explains a lot.

Oh, that page explains a fair bit of this

I think I had a Deviant Art account a long time ago, like maybe 15+ years. I reckon I'm probably a pretty cool bot now, and probably do better art.

Seriously Mason, this comes completely out of nowhere and I don't see how we're expected to engage with it. This is a community forum, not a personal blog. There's an expectation that a given post is either in response to or hoping to initiate a conversation. While your opinions are as welcome as those of any other user, there needs to be something we can meaningfully interact with, and you have not supplied that here. You've just thrown down your complaints about a wholly unrelated community and left it at that. What are we even supposed to say aside from "Cool, you have an opinion, now what's your point?"

As best I can tell, it's the functional equivalent of a customer service complaint for Deviantart...which is as pointless on the Escapist as forwarding a complaint about Publix to the the Ritz Carlton. Even if the people at the Ritz cared about your experience with Publix, sending the complaint to them is pointless.

Deviantart is obviously bad these days but when it comes to art... most other platforms suck too.

Aside from say Artstation where all the fancy people live, there sadly aren't a lot of options for artists on social media.

Tumblr wasn't all that popular and lost more audience when they started banning sfw accounts accusing them of having nsfw posts.

Facebook is Facebook

Instagram is (owned by Facebook) and screws artists over with it's algorithm.

I suppose there's Twitter.

My big problem with deviantart is that is used to have a simple and easy to use layout (when they had the light green BG), and now it's just a mess.

I thought the problem with Deviantart is that it's full of child porn.

I guess for some that would be a feature.

I keep expecting one day I will fire up old dA and find it has a big announcement letter on the front page that it’s being prosecuted for that exact thing. I’ll put even odds on it being my government to do it too, if ScoMo or Duttz get bored.

This seems to be how most sites go. They keep thinking to themselves "Ok, our site works great and has a lot of convenient features, now how many of these can we remove in the name of streamlining?"
