Gee, look at all that discussion Nintendo!
It's almost as if the WiiU only needed...games to get people interested!

That said, this looks damn good (of course, everything "looks" good at E3 *cough*ACM*cough*) but I'm still not sold on a WiiU.
Best thing that can happen is this will bootstrap other games I might want later on. Of course, I tried that gambit with the Wii and 3DS before, and they uh...failed.

EDIT: Oh, and what a twist it would be if Blue Tunic it was revealed to be Link/Zelda's kid.

Here, try this image:

Eyelashes are much thicker, the character designer's shorthand for "this is a female!"
Plus, she has a thin waist and wider hips. I can't not see a lady.
I don't think we have seen enough yet to make that call. Link has always seemed slightly feminine in all his appearances so I don't see a break from pattern here. You do make valid points and me and some friends had an hour long discussion on those very points. At the end we agreed that the possibility is there to make this a female version of Link, but we would like to see more character models to speculate with any sort of accuracy. I personally think that this Link is male based on the hands. The hands are too masculine for this to be a female.

That said, I wouldn't mind a female Link, and there is also speculation that this is Collin from TP

Link I am pretty sure is still a guy in this go around no matter how far the scale goes.

Sorry, but I was under the impression that all the Zelda games were "open world."
It would be great to see Nintendo come out with a game that's as detailed and explorable as a Bethesda type experience but I'm not used to seeing them try that hard.
They are open world in the sense that you can start the game at any which way and that. Most Zelda games are basically linear for the most part with a huge world to kill things in dungeons and not much leeway after that. Also keep in mind that one of the reasons why Bethesda can get away with doing such huge open world games, is because for Bethesda Fallout and Elder Scrolls are basically their only huge bread and butters. So of course they would devote a lot of time into making the worlds fucking massive.

Granted that tends to be overshadowed when the Q and A is on par with shitty steam games.
Yea, I'm not saying they should use Bethesda's crappy engine or their testing department, which I imagine to look like this:

But you have to admit, Nintendo games could stand to be a little deeper. Yea, they may need to hire some more or take some more time but it would probably be worth it if it got some more WiiUs into people's homes wouldn't it.
Personally that is an insult to the chimp sir you should apologize to our simian cousin wan't to be on their good side when the ape uprising happens.

Say what you want but Coco loved working in the testing department at Bethesda much more than living in the harsh jungles of Borneo. There he had indoor plumbing and all the bananas he could eat. All he had to do was keep turning a game console on and off.

Don't talk about that stuff. Do you know how such a possible fact can destroy the OC/Giraham/Ganandorf X Link shipping that runs rampant in the fandom?!!?

Silence such blasphemous thoughts!

You think that will sink those ships? Remember, multiple timelines now exist thanks to the Hyrule Historia, so the shipping will never die!

*chuckles*
The thought of that sinking those ships still makes me laugh. You'd have an easier time sinking the Luigi X Daisy boat than the multiple OC, Giraham, and Ganandorf X Link ships. Hell, you'd probably need the force of Majora's Moon to sink the Ganandorf X Link ship! :p

Believe me I know. It's half the reason why I avoid all Nintendo tags.

The koopa tags used to be a safe haven as well...then the koopalings became a regular mainstay...yeah...

EDIT: oops I put in Mario by accident (they are one of the worst offenders though.)

My theory is plausible, fandom be damned!
Bring on the Shippers and their Heresy Examiners, I will rebuke them all!

I don't know how you all get so excited, sure there are many who were staved for new Zelda (or just games) and the ideas seem like a nice change, but all teaser vids make everything out to sound big and look pretty. I'll judge when we get nearly all the info.

As for the graphics/style, it looks like a shiny blurry mess. I really don't like it.

So apparently Aonuma clarified that what he said was taken out of context, and that we did see Link in the trailer.

So it isn't Zelda, or any new character. It's Link. Whether or not this indicates character customization/creation, which would include the option of choosing gender, is still up in the air.

This really makes me want to get a Wii U.

I lost interest in Nintendo's games and stopped paying attention to the Wii because I didn't like having to use motion controls for every game, does anyone know if most Wii U games still require them? I know next to nothing about the Wii U though a quick search shows that it's controller has a giant screen in the middle of it.

Even if it has forced motion controls, this and Hyrule warriors may make me get a Wii U.
