Specifically mentioning steam is misleading, since as soon as the word "steam" was uttered, I thought "oh, well I guess I'm not getting this game"

Since I've known and loved penumbra since the tech demo, I thought I'd just buy another copy of penumbra to make up for the fact that I was pirating their latest game, and explain to them why.
And what do I see? Amnesia, right next to Penumbra in the Frictional store.
http://store.frictionalgames.com/

Way to go supporting indie developers by only mentioning mainsteam[typo] distributors.

It all makes sence now! The reason your not reviewing any good games is because your trying to piss off the majority of YOUR fan base by not reviewing any of their favorite games. Who the hell wants to know anything about some piss-ant game nobody cares about? I cant even find Amnesia at any E.B. games store!

I used to acctualy care what you thought about games but now I've realized you only review games (or dont review certain games) just to get some shock value, in order to attract attention. Even that guy who does Escape to the Movies reviews things while there still relavent. Because what good is a review of a game that nobody has, and no body cares about.

So with your poor choices in mind I think you should not review any games that sell over 1 million copies this fall. That way every game that people want you to rip on can get throughly ignored with no favorites.

And yes I'm still upset about how you didnt eat Starcraft 2 alive for being a predictable piece of shit, that only sold because of the name. WHOA Ticus was a trator!? That would have been a supprise if it didnt show it at the begining of the game!
1. I love how you're arrogant yet ignorant enough to think that A. nobody cares about this game, and B. it's clearly irrelevant because it's not in a box.

2. In reference to above, I care about this game. I've been tracking it since April or May.

3. "Not reviewing good games"? He LIKED this one! What more do you want!? "Oh, but I don't like it!" Um, you just said you've never played it, never heard about it, and probably don't know anything about it, thus you don't know if you like it or not.

4. He said he's going to go through Halo Reach, but he's delaying it to "bait fanboys". Reading your response, it doesn't even matter if you like Halo or not, he baited you anyways. And he is satisfied with his catch.

5. He gave us a couple weeks notice that he would NOT review Starcraft because he DOESN'T LIKE RTS games, yet people are surprised. Pay attention.

Out of interest, what do you consider to be "good" games? Considering how he's covered his bases pretty well in the past, I can't help but wonder why you're so butthurt now.
A good game? Hell thats easy! One I can play with my friends. The more the merrier. Playing a game alone can be entertaining, but playing it with others can be way more fun because you not only have the entertainment the game gives but also the BS that come along with a bunch of crazy basturds trying to co-operate.

I dont give a damn how good or bad a game is because if its bad you can laugh about how shity it is with others, and if its good then you just have a good time.

What about you? what makes a good game in your opinion? (other then something yatzee has pre-approved for you)
Mirror's Edge is my favorite game of all time (Yahtzee despised it). I also loved Gubble, Myst, and Minecraft. Why? Because they all did something I hadn't seen before, and did it well.

Excellent choice of review from Yahtzee, I actually didn't expect this title to get much of a review or recommendation from anywhere let alone Yahtzee. But I am glad because Amnesia: The Dark Descent was an awesome game.

There was one point where I was nearly having heart palpatations from using the physics system to frantically stack chairs and objects in front of me while I was holed up in a room with the monster trying to get at me over the stack of moveable objects. Still died, while I recovered in a cold sweat.

Loved this episode.

I was thinking whether to buy Amnesia or not, now I decided to buy it. If it scared Yahtzee, I'll probably quit the game as soon as I see a monster.

Video is loading in extremely slowly right now. Its just this, other websites are working normally.

Ok, this is ridiculous, I paid for premium service and the video is only 1/3 buffered and its been over an hour

Video is broken, and those PES III adverts have convinced me never to buy a football game. Repeatedly. EVA.

A horror game that doesn't rely on you being disgusted by a clearly-visible monster that's been seen in half a dozen previous iterations? Unpossible.

An actual recommendation from Yahtzee is a rare thing and probably not given lightly. Glad to see he isn't the only one who actually understands the "less is more" mentality. It shows in his writing.
No it doesn't...

Cool, will pick up the game. If you haven't already go try Penumbra and the expansion. Those are the only games that ever creeped me out enough to where I actually had to take breaks from playing just to wind down :p.

"OH pissing blimey there's jam coming out of the Walls!" XD

My thought process when playing the demo was something like: "Huh I have amnesia, how original. Well not much to do here. Ok you open doors by moving the mouse? That's pretty neat, hmm, not very scary so far. I think I'll walk into this room. Huh a broom, can I set it on fire? No? that's weird. Well, better go upstairs. Let's just walk around this corner and... footsteps? That's not good! I think I'll stop playing now."

I seriously couldn't finish the f**king DEMO that's how scary I thought it was. I'm impressed at the games scaryness, but I'm not gonna buy it. It's too good at it's job.
Oh good, I'm not alone. I would love it if I could play more of the game but I have a feeling that my underwear budget would skyrocket.

Loved it, cant wait for reach, until you murder it.
Don't be so hasty. He liked CoD4, remember, and thats a fanboy favourate!
Also, on the subject of him not having done Reach yet, I think thats what sets Yahtzee apart from the other reviewers. He can leave a maistream game for months, years in some cases, and people still watch the video and make comments on the game. If any other reviewer was to review Reach 2 weeks late, nobody would read it or watch it or whatever or give a shit and a half about it. Hell, imagine if IGN did that. Fanboys would be up in arms! Really says something about the entertainment value of his videos.

Good job, Yahtzee.
I guess, I hope he does, its a fucking awsome game!
Yeah its pretty good!

It's times like this that I'm really glad I keep up with ZP. Yes, the episodes where he rips a mainstream title a new one are funny and satirical at keeping up with gaming's steady decline. But when he reviews a scary indie game such as "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" and makes reference to "Penumbra: Black Plague" I'm actually pretty excited. I've never heard of EITHER of these games and now I want to play them both. (Scary, stealth, first person, not a shooter. I like the concepts.)

Now that that's over, I can't wait to watch him poo all over 'Reach' next week.

I NEED to get this. Finally downloading Steam again just for this semi-positive review from ZP. I wonder how the sales have changed since this review...

Who else thinks Yahtzee should start doing walk-throughs of the games he plays? Would be so f-ing funny listening to his witty banter while he plays :D
