4 player split-screen would look horrible, but you can only have 2 players on one screen anyways.....

Well fork! This is how I felt about Don'tBotherLands! Finally the anger that this pile of brown pie left in me has gotten out of my system. Five stars for Yahtzee!

People were begging for this? Didn't they pick up from the Torchlight review that he doesn't like loot games? And didn't they pick up from 98% of the other episodes that he thinks most games are awful?

I'm not at all surprised with Yahtzee's opinion, nor do I fault him for it. I can see how he could feel that way about the game. I understand that people watch him to see games get torn apart (with the occasional shock of something he likes).

My only real complaint about the Borderlands review is that he seemed to be trying really hard to avoid saying anything good about it. No mention of the art style, for instance, and only one quick nod to the "unnecessarily good writing" on the way to another insult.

Don't feel obligated to tear every game apart, Yahtzee. Most games are crap enough that you don't need to reach to do that. :)

I'm surprised I thought this week might Army of two:40th day or Dante's Inferno or MAG???
MAG? Yahtzee has explained time and time again that he hates multiplayer, and online multiplayer in particular. I don't think he'll be rushing to play an online-multiplayer only game.

I know Yahtzee likes to be a shit for no other reason than to just be a shit but the review missed so many elements of the game.
I know this is something of a stretch of the imaginariuam, but maybe in your post(s), you could, oh, include some of the things his review missed, instead of just SAYING that he did.

excellent review, tottaly nailed it.

after killing the completely random unexplained giant horned vigina, i found that the vault didnt seem to contain anything else. Why not put a chest or 4 in there.

what was is all about, i played it though twice, got lv50 and still dont know why the vault had a monster in it and nothing else. Waste of time ??

besides the unexplained, i love this game, even the grind and the constant running back and forth. i kept getting flashbacks of Diablo. TOTAL FUN i will be playing this again, FU GIANT HORNED VIGINA.

nice review! I myself never really liked Borderlands though... It was too repetitive for my tastes and though I did have someone to do the co-op with my friend actually de-installed the game as he too got too bored of it :p

So yeah that just left me to be alone with a game that really is hardly worth playing alone and is not really all that much better over co-op. So I did the only logical thing... un-install it and sell the game used

It felt like WoW but then an FPS/RPG hybrid. Since we already have Mass Effect 1 and 2 though there is little use for another FPS/RPG hybrid game especially since Borderlands is not nearly as good. The only thing it has good is the co-op but even that sucks in terms of what it offers. As there is no auto-level matching or anything, like other co-op games actually do have and even mmos!

If you or your friend(s) plays more than you, you can no longer play co-op with them as once the level gap is too large you can't do the missions with them and if they do your missions with you it is way too easy...

sounds like this reviewer got owned on multiplayer so he had to resort to the single player campaign. this game is designed for online play, and it is quite fun if you don't suck. don't claim you're reviewing a game if you're not going to play online...

The key to any multiplayer game is being able to find people of similar mentality to play along with. If you're looking to explore this big, open world, and you get randomly dropped into a game with three folks just interested in powering through the missions, I can imagine that would be a very miserable experience. I suppose I'm just lucky for having at least 2 friends to help pad out the attendance on these 4 player games.

Although, in all honesty, I think the next game we should spam for a review is Heavy Rain. Nothing should get the bile flowing like a game that is, essentially, nothing but a string of clevered up Quick Time Events.

I did think this game looked garbage. Just because Yahtzee says so doesn't really mean anything though, if I'm perfectly honest.

I pretty much agree with everything said and more. I honestly can't believe that you fight the same 1 bad guy character model when you start the game as you do when you finish it.

Wow, I wasn't expecting a Mass Effect 2 review at all, as a sequel that really isn't much different from the first one in terms of stuff that was said in the ME1 review. That should be quite entertaining, though. Can't wait for next week!

Although, I also kinda hope that maybe he'll need yet another week to play ME2, and we can get another Mailbag Showdown like we did after SSBB. Man that was funny.

Oh, right. Borderlands. Hearing mixed reviews all around, maybe I'll get it when it's in some bargain bin somewhere. Other than that, I'll probably skip it for now.

If it makes you feel any better Yahtzee, it isn't just your "fans." Any video game, movie, TV show, food brand, ect with a fanbase always feel they can moan and complain about the way things should be done.

Other than that there isn't really anything to say that hasn't already been said. Great review. Made me laugh.
