What game are you referring to?
The only one I am 100% sure is going to generate a fun reaction with our stick figure friend, Paper Mario: Color Splash - a game in a series that has been replaced meat of the story with pretty graphics and minor tweaks on gameplay, basically the bell that Yahtzee has been banging his head on in the last decade. It's going to be really special, considering Yahtzee introduced a list of blandest games so he could finally put Mario games on his lists, it's the last official Wii U exclusive game, a console Yahtzee hates, and it's being released in the same year as another Mario RPG game Yahtzee didn't like: Paper Jam. So be sure to grab your pop corn in October.

Cripes. When your Mario sub-franchise is putting out more games in the same year than Call of Duty, you know you done fucked up, Nintendo.

Seriously? It's that bad? Awww.

I was totally expecting the protagonist to be Setsuna as a pack of warriors from your village basically escort/threaten you all the way to the end at which point you can choose to follow through with the whole thing, or just sod off.

I was expecting pretty decently balanced combat, and a great story, and apparently all of that is for naught.

...Well fine. Less money spent, I guess. Time to get back to making my own RPGs which by the accounts of this review are actually better somehow. XD

Nah, it's just that Yahtzee reviewed Paper Jam in 2016, but it released in the end of 2015 worldwide, and Color Splash is set to release in October of this year, kinda the reverse scenario of 3 years ago, Sticker Star released at the end of 2012, was Yahtzee's first review of the following year and Dream Team released August of 2013. They are made by different developers, Paper Mario by Intelligent Systems and Mario & Luigi by Alpha Dream, so they can't control when a game is ready. So no, Mario is not as bad as call of duty.

Oh hell yes, I loved his Super Mario Maker review(why people were willing to pay 60 bucks for a fucking level editor is beyond me, Mario truly has run out of Steam).

COD is still fun to play though, Mario isn't and hasn't been fun for me for a long time now.

It's a given nowadays whenever Square releases a game that's NOT Final Fantasy (we're all on the hate-bus for that unless it's an MMO) that it's an artistic masterpiece. Square has the monopoly on classic JRPGs while Atlas contends for the modernized JRPG with Persona.

So all Square needs to do is retread the basic outline of games made for 20 years now, ala Bravely Default, and all the JRPG lovers join hands and dance for joy.

I'm sure the game is decent, but as this review shows they could have taken that extra step to actually make it memorable. In a good way.

So they tried to be Chrono Trigger, but only managed to be Chrono Cross. Poor bastards.

Sounds like a complete and utter rip off of Tales of Symphonia....

at least the first part of the first disc.

I've played a bit of the game and it's alright so far but I hear the ending is quite poor.

No, it's not bad at all. I'm enjoying it - and the soundtrack - quite a bit! It's a very peaceful game.

I keep reading the title as "I Am Satsuma" ...a crappier breed of orange. Which is kindof apt for this game, as Satsumas are smaller, pithier, drier, looser...all round generally just a cheap knock-off orange. It's also coincidentally a regular family Christmas addition, making me wonder if this game should really be called "I Am A Satsuma: But I dream to be an orange"
Oh damn, Am hungry now. 😕
You know mandarins are the original orange, right? Modern oranges were created by cross breeding mandarins with pomelos to create a new fruit.

I watched a few trailers of this, they stated it was inspired by Chrono Trigger, but I thought the only at all that looked like that game was the battle system... All I can say is, "called it".

Maybe it's the cynic in me, but when a game is inspired by a game I loved, I am immediately wary of it's statements. My thought was I could just play Chrono Trigger if I wanted something inspired by that game. But then again.. there is no time travel mechanic in this, so how in the fuck is it legitimately inspired by CT?

Ahhh yes, my old nemesis: Dennis. I always have trouble with that boss fight!
Dennis is worse kind of Pinguam enemy reskin!

OT: "What I learned from this review is..." [besides finding it to be more funny than I thought it was going to be]:"I Am Setsuna" was also my secret camgurl name before actually taking crossdressing seriously...This game is basically Tales of Symphonia WAY before the first major plot twist in Disk 1...Steam Tags can sometimes trigger Yahtzee...The mercenary isn't female? Or is the mercenary's gender chosen by the player?DILDO BANG-HIMS! *laughs*"Senpai noticed me with those killer eyes..."Unintentional DB reference?Wait... Only 3 can enter a battle? TOS did it in 4!Dennis is worse kind of Pinguam enemy reskin!!Ending gag reminded me that there is a Cthulhu dating sim game on Steam...Other than that, if someone in a schoolgirl uniform told me to "come on you pussy" instead of "come in my pussy" all while sticking their ass at me on a "crowded" train, I will scream out "I AM SETSUNA!" and then go from there...

I always had an issue with that 'female protagonist' tag. Why does that even exist?
To get the attention of losers who play games one-handed, and the deviantart types who then provide the aforementioned with extra wank material.
Don't forget the SJWs.
Can't take anyone seriously who uses stupid terms like that.

As soon as he said I am Setsuna was inspired by Chrono Trigger, I wanted to bounce about with nostalgic joy until he said it only took the combat and party mechanics. What a bummer. It does sound like a knock off of Tales of Symphonia too like everyone else is saying. So you know what I'll just replay Chrono Trigger and Tales of Symphonia when I find the time. Much better option. :)

By the way calling Setsuna the main female protagonist is like calling Zelda the main protagonist. Sure the Steam page only says she's A female protagonist and not THE main protagonist, but that's nothing special at all when pretty much every RPG has a female in your party.
