A character who can't die, action-packed combat, lots of fun puzzles.. that would be a great game. Except then they would go and add in bullshit to "balance" the fact that you can't die, and I would instantly not want anything to do with it.
I with people would quit bitching about games being "too easy", cause as far as I'm concerned I'd much rather play an "easy" game than one I'll never beat cause there will inevitably be "that one area" that'll cause so much frustration and rage I would rather slit my own throat with the disc than be arsed to continue playing. Well, that and people seem to have a very loose idea of what "easy" actually means, these days.
Like Yahtzee said, good ideas poorly implemented. Enjoyed the review, too. The game reminded me of Plok and Decap Attack. I haven't played those in ages.

I love these reviews and find the guy more than a little bit funny but Gears of War is not bad!

That review made me want to play it. Unique gameover mechanisms other than health bar/escort are what make gameplay fun.

That was the first thing I thought of as well. And Yahtzee being British I'd say that was suspiciously like Dara O'Briain. But he, in turn, probably got it from someone else as well. Good material is always being "borrowed". Look at how authors borrowing heavily from Tolkien created an entire genre.Palademon said:
The part where Yahtzee described the game mechanics (first time hearing about this game for me, don't really follow new releases) made it sound like one of the fun hypothetical proof-of-concept games from his XP columns, I was actually kind of surprised that no one in the comments has mentioned the same notion yet.
