Absolutely, I just find it to be a curious coincidence here because it's a rather specific complaint.

Also, personally, I much preferred the "feel" of Gothic 1, but gameplaywise Gothic 2 + Addon was by far the superior title. Still, it irked me a little at first to encounter Dragons, when Gothic 1 had been surprisingly light on the stereotypical fantasy elements (Orcs much more interesting culturally and complex than usual, no Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, almost entirely humans-focused, unusual monsters...).

This is a weird coincidence, because I was recently saying to someone that there should be more RPGs based on history, and more RPGs in which you fight monkeys.

For future reference, "splicing the mainbrace" can either refer to a difficult and dangerous ship repair job, or getting drunk to celebrate something, depending on the context.
