So wait, Yahtzee actually liked the online multiplayer component over the singleplayer campaign? Pardon me for a second, I must check to see if the sky is falling and the seas are running red with blood....
I've been excited for Splatoon (I don't own it because I don't own a Wii U yet) and it seems like most people who give me opinions on the internet have all be praising it wildly. But the thing is...they were all people who I expected them to say that stuff before they even played it.
Yahtzee genuinely liking this game came as a huge surprise to me, a nice surprise, like getting a onion ring mixed in with your french fries.

We totally have an Escapist Group that's been rather inkcited over Splatoon recently, if anyone who enjoyed knowing that even Yahtzee liked the multiplayer wants to hear more about it.
I actually more or less agree with Yahtzee's critisims, too. The single player is -way- too token, incorporating a lot of platforming that doesn't get used in the multiplayer. It's also way too short.
His comment about the people standing in the middle of the lobby implies that he has no idea what those people are for. You can order the outfits that they're wearing and then use them, which is good since each set of clothing has different passive skills that help make you better in the multiplayer. To be fair, it's rather expensive in terms of in game currency.
And yes, we already have one new map in addition to the ones currently used, as well as a new combat mode based on a King of the Hill kind of thing, and I expect more updated material as time passes, so may he revisit Splatoon in a few months at least and find the experience even better than it currently is.
