Talentless humorists think referential humor, randomness, and self-awareness makes you funny, and you wind up with this:

Games are the same way. Sunset Overdrive is the former example.
You, Sir/Madam, are a Noble and a Scholar!

blech! I HATE 4th wall breaking.
One of my biggest gripes with the original TMNT cartoon....even back in my youth I hated 4th wall breaking.

Did anyone else get an ad for Sunset Overdrive before this video? It made me laugh. "If only you knew what is likely coming..."

Hipsters oppressing nerds to fight capitalism without any self awareness or understanding and most of all no sense of humour.

You sure this review can be posted outside of the R&P forums...

Had a fun time at PAX, but then again, I was just running around shooting things. Ergo what I was going in Saint's Row, but Insomniac are better at 3RD person shooters honestly. Fun game and definitely something I'd be getting if I had an Xbone... but I don't, so eat a dick Sony you dumb dumbs.

I think Yahtzee is being far too harsh on this game, but then again his branding is being negative so what can you do.

Although it seems that 1/4 of it is complaining about it being on Xbox One. Talk about bias.
People seem to forget that Yahtzee's whole shtick is finding things he doesn't like about games, and then launching into a rant about them. If you were to summarise his main points, you'd get something along the lines of fun gameplay, story is a bit shit, humour missed the mark.
You forgot leading off with "i'm gonna try to explain why this whole thing is hypocrisy, then complain about MS".
They seemed like tangential quips at Microsoft rather than directly related to the game for mine. Probably should've stated that I was specifically referring to his comments on the game though.

I'm surprised Insomniac games is making this kind of humor, there were a lot of funny jokes in Ratchet and Clank games. They did have lots of 4th wall joke pop culture references, or sarcasm.

E: That should say they did NOT have lots of 4th wall jokes etc.
Excuse me - the R&C games stopped being funny when it was discovered they managed to shoehorn in the Trololo song aboard one of the starships (part of some virus attack or some shit) and had supporting characters start quoting Internet lingo like "brb" and "lol".

I love the fact that they actually paid people to fail this hard at comedy.

So an evil corporation releases an extreme soft drink that turns people into mutants and that's our plot?

...Does anyone else remember Rampage: Total Destruction? Anyone? No...just me...okay then.

When did this happen? I haven't played All 4 One or anything that wasn't on the PS2 or part of the future trilogy (tools of destruction, crack in time and into the nexus) and I've never seen that.

So it's like an open world Jet Set Radio with guns? I would play that. Sounds fucking rad.
Without the soundtrack, charm or quality of course? Sure, its basically Jet Set Radio with guns, or Tony Hawks Pro Shooter.
Well, if I think about it, the first Jet Set Radio is clunky as hell to play. What we need is Jet Set Radio Future HD, pretty it up and put it on Steam like the first game. Soundtrack can't be beat though, that's true.
