This has got to be one of the worst reviews Yahtzee has ever done. The negative attitude towards the game because it (currently) is a PC exclusive is uncalled for. I dislike PC elitists as much as the next guy, but that's not the game's fault.

I agree that the "tutorial" of the game could be a lot better, but other than that:
a) If you're constantly dying due to the monsters in the woods in the first chapter you have to be incredibly thick, sorry. All those monsters have a fairly obvious area where they linger, so actually opening your eyes while running through the woods helps a lot... and even if you run into them constantly: Run away, they stop following you after a while.
b) There are exactly 5 spells in the game. Figuring out what spell does what takes roughly... a minute, and remembering them shouldn't be too hard for anyone over the age of 2.
c) Fighting groups is hard in the beginning, but not unmanageable. Be aware of where you're standing and where your enemies are and you'll do fine. There's also a lot of stuff that can help you deal with groups: Bombs, Yrden and other traps.
d) Every cutscene in the game can easily be skipped by clicking a mouse button.

Overall, this review is factually wrong in so many things it states that it's just painful and stops being funny. Yahtzee played the first chapter, obviously still didn't get the combat system or anything else and then decided to be an ass about it, using the very popular 'PC elitists suck' hook.
If you didn't enjoy the game: Fine, but at least make the effort to give actually valid reasons why the game is bad (there are actual issues with the game, it's far from perfect)... or review another game, if you can't be bothered with this one.

Oh the PC fanboy rage is delicious. Insulting your attention span and calling you a moron because you aren't having fun with a game heavens forbid you have fun with a game.

Really the people who didn't like the review, most of the points I've read is the reason why I stay away from PC gaming. The major one, if you don't like what I like you're an idiot with small attention span who should learn how to play games better. Really striving forward video game opinions and helping the social stigma of the video gamer

Didn't yahtzee have a super computer when playing crysis. I remember he said he could play it on full graphics (with a bit of lag). so why is he using a laptop to play his games? graphics may not make or brake a game but they do help (especially resolution). more importantly a smooth frame rate helps. (I am just going to guess it was damaged in the floods or something). as for the game, I don't really like RPG's anyway and wasn't interested. had it of been a really good RPG I might have given it a try. but yahtzee I am not telling you what to do but merrily recommending you buy a desktop (try PCmeal on ebay they will give you one thats super powerful and really cheap)

At least he isn't inflicting a low-score on the holy Metacritic Average.

Most of the low scores are coming from British publications...

I always thought that gaming was about experience that is highly influenced by me, yet so many people make it seem that they would prefer the game to either
1) tell them everything
2) do everything for them.

Where is the fun in that?

So to conclude, yes, If you cant figure out the combat after several fights, you are either a casual gamer, or you dont have the mental capacity to play the game. Thats just it and no offense meant.
If you can but find that demanding gameplay is not to your liking, that is ok, there is a whole market out for you. But I for one, am very grateful to my Polish neighbors for Witcher 2.

Getting surrounded? Move more. Getting killed in two shots? Pop a protective sign and renew it. Fighting group? Soften them up with bombs. Distract them by hypnotizing one of them. Attack like a true swordsman, hop in, slash, hop out. And so on.

React, learn, adapt. That should be gameplay.

I watch ZP from nearly the begining of it and I must say from what I saw Yahtzee just dosn't like challenging games.
I think years of games that are comming out today, with no deifficulty at all made him lazy, like most of the gamers, and 99% of the 10-20 years old gamers :)

Both Demon's Souls and The Witcher 2 are awsome games, hard, but filled with awsomness beyond comprehention and if someone just can't play them because hes too lazy to try a diffrent approach to a fight, can't press ESC during a cutscene or find the "EASY" difficulty button - well it sums that person up as a gamer :)

13 pages??? people on the internet care too much about what one British born "critic" has to say.
If you did not like the review or some how were offended by it, go read one of the many many reviews praising the game. I loved the game and I love the ZP reviews(tho this one did rub me the wrong way) but there is no reason to go on raging about it for 13 pages.

Worst ZP in a while. Can essentially be summed up as "I think PC gamers suck and I don't posses basic cognitive functions or an atention span longer than 5 seconds". I know ZP isn't supposed to be taken seriously, but this one just rubbed me the wrong way...
He dosen't hate PC gamers. He IS one. Yahtzee said his first system was a Commodore 64. Also, when he did his Console War episode he showed the Wii, 360, and PS3 trying to get his love, and then he holds up a keyboard. He's not saying PC gamers or games are bad, but he is saying he thinks the Witcher 2 could have been better. It's not being stupid to not know how to play a game if the game dosen't tell you how to play.
You've probably already been quoted on this, but he isn't. He's stated specifically in a podcast that he's "more of a console boy myself", as well as on his IAMA. So either he's made his 5 billionth self-contradiction, or he's a console gamer. To be honest, I think the former is more likely, but whatever. :p
#1: :) Nope. You are the first person to say this, and you are correct in what you say. Give yourself a cookie!

#2: Hahahahaha! You know its possible he changed his mind over time, had an epiphany, or some other crap like that. However, what you said is funnier so lets go with the "He's a self-contradiction" theory. I LIKE IT! Give yourself a Nobel Prize!;)

Intense to say the least. And some prime minister gave Obama a copy? Forget you, Denmark/Norway/Some-other-northern-euro-country, this is AMERICA; if you give the president a video game, it better consist of muscled men blasting invading aliens/russians in the face to symbolize our fight for independance!

What's that? Your country fought for it's independance several times? That's pretty gay, I guess you guys aren't as good at war as you are at rendering elves.
It's Poland, actually.

To all the folks yelling "if you don't like his opinion go watch something else", if we wanted to watch something else then why the hell would we be on Zero Punctuation?

I like to watch Yahtzee because he can be insightful about flaws even in very good games. Some of the stuff he said here was on the money. Other stuff however was just shit he made up. And you say "he's entertainment, who cares?" And I say, it's not very entertaining listening to him rip into a game based on shit he made up. It's entertaining when it's TRUE. If he's gonna make it up then what's the point?

Also I care because I like Zero Punctuation and I don't even particularly like Witcher 2. But this shit ain't kosher. And yelling "if you disagree with me you're a PC elitist!" is... behaving like a fanboy.

Yahtzee, all I have to say is that this...

*puts on tophat, monocle and strokes golden diamond cane in a silk bathrobe*

...is why you are not worthy of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race.

OT: If the two swords thing is true, then this game is downright silly.
>< its called lore, and the potion before combat is called RP. I know these concepts are not needed in consoles games where immersion is a joke, but in a truly great RPG then these things are a must.
So to you immersion is about examining an overcomplicated inventory/customization screen for half the game's duration looking for the items that have the highest numbers? Sounds like YOUR sense of immersion is a joke.
Try a console game one of this days... who knows, maybe you'll find yourself having fun.

To quote Yahtzee, do you remember fun? That feeling you used to have before games started to feel like a second job?
