No, that is the entire game, and more, since the twist in the end is that there is more of the same after you complate the game.Dannyjw said:I tried the demo for undertale and can only assume i didn't "get it".

I swear the internet is trying to bait me sometimes:Silentpony said:Same. No idea why its so praised. Not saying its bad. But like Darkest Dungeon and Borderlands, I just don't get it.Dannyjw said:I tried the demo for undertale and can only assume i didn't "get it".
The funniest thing is, his username is very appropriate: "HaywirePoet"Amaror said:Wow! I mean i have doubleposted myself before, but that sh** is truly impressive!HaywirePoet said:Damn, wasn't that a low year. Yahtzee had to make a second list for games he didn't like. Quite the rocky year for the worst list though, It's pathetic how the games with the largest funds and the most expensive talent (not necessarily the best talent) can turn into such boring or just poorly designed slop that overshadows all the games made with actual passion coming from human beings.
Damn this is depressing.
And i personally thought this was one of the best years for games. Witcher 3, Undertale all great games. There were always more sh**ty games that yathzee could put on any of his worst games list, that he did it this year just shows how tired he has gotten form bland games, not how much the quality of the game dropped.
Aside from Broken Age Act 2, every single one showed up, bottom 5 or in the 5 blandest blands. Didn't call Hatred being in the Bottom 5, though.Freedom153 said:Bottom, in no order, more than 5:
Godzilla(preeeetty sure this is going to show up)
The Order : 1886(same as above)
Alone in the Dark : Illumination
Everybody's Gone to the Rapture
Star Wars : Battlefront
Rise of the Tomb Raider (character irritation factor)
Assassin's Creed Syndicate (franchise irritation factor)
Edit: Maaaaaybe Broken Age : Act 2 as well. From the review, sounds like the second half was phoned in. Switch the two characters, aaaaand... they just adjust perfectly? Bwuh?
I think that's an absolutely wrong attitude to have. For starters, it's a dude's personal list, so whatever ranks ranks.Silentpony said:Just seems to me the #1 shouldn't be controversial, or at least should be a game that is universally loved. Amongst my group of friends, I honestly would say its a pretty tight 50/50 split over who thinks Undertale is worth playing or not.
That kind of thinking encompasses everything that's wrong with the "AAA" games industry. Why try anything different or unique or possibly polarizing (though as a fan of Undertale, I believe that the only reason the game is so polarizing is because its fanbase has exceeded Sonic levels of horridness, but I digress) when you can pick something safe that everyone can agree is good enough?Silentpony said:Just seems to me the #1 shouldn't be controversial, or at least should be a game that is universally loved.
Literally any social media platform where games are discussed.saxman234 said:I don't know where these rabid crazy fans of Undertale are.
Right? I feel like there's this propensity to label fan-bases as rotten and horrible because someone somewhere has an overly annoying zealous friend who likes aforementioned 'thing'. And because of that the thing MUST be bad.saxman234 said:I don't know where these rabid crazy fans of Undertale are.
I feel like I see so many more rabid haters of Undertale who comment about Undertale and its fans whenever they can.
Me neither, honestly. The only thing (from what I've seen) that the fanbase seems to be guilty of is liking the game a lot... and porn. All the porn. But that's literally everything. There doesn't seem to be any animosity floating about, and when there is, it's usually in direct response of people that aren't impressed by it getting really antagonistic about its popluarity.saxman234 said:I don't know where these rabid crazy fans of Undertale are.

I'm not sure how the demo worked, but it took me awhile to really get into Undertale. Really it wasn't till about half way through that things started to come together. Then the closer I got to the ending, the better it got. To the point where I completely get why it deserves game of the year, maybe more than that considering how much it does and in such a way as I've never seen in such a way before.Dannyjw said:I tried the demo for undertale and can only assume i didn't "get it".
Really? You think throwing in a literal last second review for Undertale isn't playing it safe? You think Undertale fans would have been okay if he never even acknowledged the game? And Man said:That kind of thinking encompasses everything that's wrong with the "AAA" games industry. Check out the Escapist best game of the year thread. No one cares that Witcher III won and UT got zero mentions. Everyone's saying it's a good choice. People in the recent Critical Miss comic are more comedically upset that Rocket League lost, rather than UT. The only reason anyone would've brought it up is because of the Extra Punctuation he did making people curious as to why he didn't mention it in this year's round up.Silentpony said:Really? Somehow I really doubt it.
Well first off, I'm pretty sure Yahtzee doesn't care what Undertale fans think. And I believe he had every intention of including it on his list as soon as he was finished playing it; he's stated numerous times that the reason he didn't do a review for it is because he thinks people should play it knowing as little as possible and that watching a review could spoil the game.Silentpony said:Really?
