'Shooting bread out of a Tommy Gun' is the stuff entire movies could be based on.
I'd like to see that "Bread out of a Tommy Gun" scene. Dead Bread Redemption?

The pacing in this game was indeed a fucking mess, the freaking pirates subplot taking he cake in terms randomness.

And as you said, the game being aware of it doesn't make it any less of a bad design.

Like how after Drake conveniently washes up shore back in Yemen and says, "That's convenient".

But I already spewed out my dislike of Uncharted 3 last week so I'll leave it at that.

I actually was expecting much more of a whipping for this game

I'm playing it right now and Really enjoying it but somethings are just starting to get to me that never did with 2:

I have had moments where I can see treasure, and a way to reach the treasure, but many MANY failed attempts at getting drake to drop on to the right part of a beam and I have to concede defeat

I find Drake has actually become less attracted to cover and find him snooty on what he will crouch behind and very tempremental over whether he stays there or not.

Some of the battles and enemies are just silly long/drawn out and come down to memorizing the spawn points

and the #1 cardinal sin of this game (which I dont remember from previous games) is Drake doing awesome stuff without the players control, Naughty Dog have finally gone DMC and decided they cant trust the player to be awesome enough at some points and so decided to show them how it should be done. Immersion Lost Anger inflamed.

Maybe they've been saving the American treasure-hungry sociopaths for Uncharted 4? I mean as enemies, not as your character....

The concubine joke gave me a proper belly-laugh. Well done, yahtzee, once again the marriage of humour and information is perfect.

Harsh but fair, I guess. Even though I enjoyed the game immensely I too did start seeing the cracks in the game - most notably the recurring plot themes from Uncharted 2 and the lack of significant character development in this particular outing.

It was way too tacit and 'alluded to' rather than clearly touched upon... prime offender being the relationship between Drake and Elena. I mean, all this talk of a ring and wearing the ring, and not wearing the ring... yet no mention of the significance of it! So are they married or what?! Way too vague for me.

I disagree that the series is past it;s sell by date though, I finished the game desperate for Uncharted 4 so bring it on Naughty Dog... Bring it on!

By any chance are us English all evil in it?
Why aren't the Americans ever the evil ones?
GAH!!!

Anyway... Funny review as always.

Uh oh, crapping on the perfection that is Uncharted? You must just be desperate for attention and site hits.

I enjoyed this review. "Shooting bread out of Tommy Guns" is my new band name.

They really had a red telephone booth?

That's nothing. Let's play count-the-'Hey kids! You're in London!'-stereotype game with this one MW3 cutscene.

So far I'm up to ten:

1) Football (Soccer ball)
2) Black Cab
3) Big Ben (well..pedantically the Clock Tower)
4) Post box
5) Pigeons
6) Union Flag
7) Union Flag (again!!!)
8) Red Telephone Box
9) Double-decker bus
10) OTT Mockney accent

Using one or two is good scene-setting, but there's such a thing as overkill. You might as well have a Beefeater walking down the road...
