Day 1 - Day X (Time when the city becomes largely devoid of other uninfected)

I would be hiding out in my attic/on my roof with whatever food and weapons I can find in my house, preferably under some covering while making no noise and hopefully attracting no Zombies.

Day X - Day X+7

I would spend the next week going around to various stores gathering as much ammo, food, survival equipment, fuel, and seeds and depositing said supplies in a cache towards the outskirts. Hopefully, in the back of a semi trailer.

Then I would spend the rest of my time left heading towards empty space, hopefully in Canada, more likely farther south. Hopefully some what near a small town with access to a Home Depot or similar store where I could gather supplies to build a fortress out of cinder blocks, concrete, and plenty of access to supplies needed for the construction of a Green House. Hopefully, my compound would have a decent garrison and the ability to slowly expand the compound and keep the area secure through the construction of a wall around the small town once we clear it.

Seeing as you either are not aware or a feigning something else, I will assume the former for the sake of not being nasty. One of the primary uses for the quote system is to notify the quoted party. Not quoting properly will not do this, which can annoy people, especially if there is any form of 'debate' running. Other people may also go as far to taking it as being rude.

As to the issue at hand.
The OP is a theoretical scenario with a pre-given setting, with pre-set limitations.
My main problem is that you seem to be not recognizing that the OP setting is predefined and still trying to set other/your own limitations on it. If this was your thread, then it wouldn't be an issue. As it is not, it would probably be the best idea not to continue.

Suggestions are fine, trying to install your own ideas/preferences otherwise is kinda bad form.

I suppose I owe you an apology though, That previous blow-up was a culmination of irritation at the situation on the back of pulling an all nighter.

Can we drop the argument now and get back on topic please?
Actually, I was not aware. I just thought that merely name-dropping someone in the quote box would notify them via The Escapist message system. No offense intended: just general ignorance of the message system on my part.

I see your point - I apologize on my part for coming across as invasive. Because the context of the thread was not what I originally assumed, I will abstain from further posts. I have nothing more to say on the topic, as I recognize my original strategy as moot in the context.

For everyone else not directly involved, I apologize for derailing the thread and generating e-drama.

Ok considering that I have a composite bow and a replica of the slayer of kings sword along with half decent fletching skills from medieval re-enactments, give me time, sticks, stones and feathers and I should do fine.

I live in a gated community. There is a mini-mall behind it, with a gate between the two. The mall has a Publix, several bakeries, a Home Depot, and a gun store (along with an ungodly amount of clothing stores and banks). Each store has its own generator, and I myself have a small generator.

My Plan: Since there is about 50 feet of distance between the community and the mall once you exit the gate, I would work on fortifying that area with a wall of some sort I made from planks from the Home Depot. Travel between the wall, and go to the gunshop and get some guns. I'd leave some lying around at various points in case I ever get cornered, so I have emergency weapons already at certain points.
Use many of the generators' leftover fuel powering the Publix' generator for protection of the food supply. Move food from the bakeries to the Publix. Every night take pot shots at the zombies. Eventually, due to lack of food supply we will expand into the neighboring areas.
About two miles from here, there are several patches of land we can grow food on, we'll cultivate it and grow whatever fruits and vegetables we can. We'll be surviving, albeit not by much, but we could take the world back, slowly as it may be.

Flaws: At any given point in this plan, there is a possibility of being overrun.
We could easily run out of ammunition before we run out of food, and then we could be screwed (assuming no one in the community can make bullets out of paper clips, I might add).
I'm not very proficient with guns.
If there's not enough fuel in the generators, we would have to move on with expansion before we have enough people, or even worse, before we have enough time to even get set up.
