Zombie Survival Thread

One of my friends had just bought the Zombie Survival Guide. I read some of it and it recommends using a silenced automatic rifle to fight zombies, while using the strategy of hacking up the staircase to prevent zombies from attacking you. This created a discussion between me and my friends on whether this is really the best plan. I personally prefer using a submachine gun while barricading myself in a grocery store.

But that's my personal opinion. What would you do when the zombie apocalypse comes? Hopefully this thread will help everyone better survive...

You'd probably need to armour the sides and the backs with downward, greased spikes to prevent any shamblers. Maybe some upturned spikes on the roof and doors incase you get those fast zombies.

I hate to be a dejanazi but we had about five of these around a week ago(I think).

I would grab me a shotgun and a chainsaw. (aim for the head, with both)

The staircase idea is good, but you would need to be able to get out and in to gather supplies safely.

I've never heard of a search buttong. Or any buttong for that matter. Where do you find them?

Find a zombie as fast as possible so I can join the horde.

Armored bus or similar large vehicle, perhaps an armored car if you're lucky. Load it up with fuel, bullets, and supplies and drive your way to salvation.

I use Search Button and point the zombies to the writhing mass of zombie survival threads.

Then they'll just make more, you know?

Sorry I tried the search and I got results on buying a zombie survival guide online, zombie survival games, and one on a zombie escape plan on the first page. So I assumed the threads were probably dead. And I wanted to know more than just how to run.

I would first stock up at a surplus supply store. 50 first aid kits, 100 crates of water, and a LOT of food. I would grab a rifle, get a supressor, pop on a scope. Have a shotgun for backup and a pistol for more backup. Crowbar and machete for final backup. I would barricade in our school's performing arts center. barricade the doors that lead outside. By now I have probably 50 other survivor friends. Pop 3 in the light booth to watch the doors for breakage. If they do break in, get into the catwalk and chop the ladder off. Pick off at leisure.

Lol! Or even a 'Somebody put rudimentary AI inside a robot spoon and now said spoon is making all other spoons self aware and we're about to either be beaten to death by spoons or go without soup for a while' Survival thread?

Bottom line, there is no surviving a zombie holocaust, there's only staying alive long enough to find the hottest woman who's still alive, bone her then commit suicide before you get your ass bit (by the zombies not by the chippie, although that part may be worth sticking around for )

Has anyone ever wondered that when the zombie apocalypse hits it will be the geeks who survive it? I mean who else have been making survival plans and been preparing for it for years and have a wide variety of different weapons, ranging from guns to medieval stuff.

i have a few plans 2 would be suggested by the book...

1. there is an old, unoccupied four story building about a mile from my house, i figure when i see things starting to go bad i stock pile food and supplies on the top floor and roof and make the stairs easy to destroy

2. about 15 miles from my house is the prison with the 30 ft granite wall, built by prisoners like a fortress..it has the largest granite wall in the state and possibly country...only problem is that the 6 watch towers can only be entered from outside the wall

i figure any plan that has more than 20 miles of traveling would require a lot more planning than i put in my spare time...or will not be shared where everyone will see it

also for me guns (rifles/shotguns/bow and arrow) are easy to find with a family of hunters

I've reconsidered, and here is what I would do.

- Wake up to the sounds of screams and ghastly moans. Yell at my neighbors to keep it down, as I am trying to sleep.
- Discover that zombies are invading at some point during the day. Maybe when I go to get breakfast.
- Lock myself in my dorm room for a few days until I run out of food.
- Flee into the streets, immediately regretting not wearing more layers, as it is winter and I live in Canada.
- Freeze to death/starve to death/be eaten to undeath

Just wondering, exactly how many of us actually have a store of food/water/ammo reserved for the zombie apocalypse.

If you don't have any food/water. You might want to consider getting some. For a natural disaster. Or for zombies...

What kind of zombies are we talking about here? The traditional slow and stupid kind? The human, but incredibly insane kind? Or maybe you're thinking of a unique kind of zombie such as the kind from Half Life or Oblivion?

I was thinking traditional, but if you want to prepare for the worst case scenario, by all means.
