I have an Ipod but no zune and my Ipod is good so it's got a good record with me. But whats good about the zune I've never personally used it so I'm interested in learning.
The Zune's difference to the iPod is the way you navigate the menus, with like a little flick pad. It's pretty cool. And of course, the software. I like it still, over iTunes.

Both are kinda kooky in their own way.

I have a 30GB Zen Vision:M, and that has lasted for quite a while.

iPods are normally easier to carry because of the design but they have become just another fashion statement now.

Zune... I've never had a Zune so I wont make assumptions.

Up to you I guess... do you really need 30GB for an MP3?
After the 16gb I think Microsoft made the screen larger so you could watch movies and such on it. After that though, not sure what you need 120gb of space for. That's almost bigger than my laptop's HDD

a zune is kinda like an ipod but it's designed without a touch screen. mostly just microsoft's solution to the ipod
Oh right, like an ipod spin off?
meh kinda. but i think it's a good spinoff

Note I didn't said it was bad, for as I have never seen one (to my knowledge), I have no proper opinion...

I'll look it up

If you want to watch videos or have a lot of songs and need the most memory, then go with the 120g Zune. If you can get all your music on 80gs or want the apps, get the Ipod, Itouch, or Iphone.

The zune is the ipod with a different control scheme. That's it. Same pricing model, same need of stupid software, and same resolution screen. The only thing that sets the two apart is that there are itouches that make everything else from apple look old.

here's the way to look at it

ipod - very little drm, your music is your music forever

zune - more drm than you can shake a stick at, any music they don't want on there can be removed AND any music you buy will no longer be playable when ever they decide to stop allowing you to play it

I like my zune, I keep all my songs in mp3 format and I never have to deal with itunes, which I viciously hate. Plus I like the "add to now playing" feature. I don't know if ipods have that now, but I don't care to look.

I've got the 120gb iPod. Does it matter that my computer doesn't have enough space for that much music? Not to me. I do have problems with iTunes, but if we're just talking about the players themselves, I'll keep my iPod.

But the ipod was just a rehash of other mp3 players out at the time too, it wasnt the first. it was the first that acheived mass popularity due to a well managed publicity campaign, as with all apple products. I just really dont like apple in general, i think its over priced for the obsolete hardware that your getting compared to some of the other things that are out there. thats not just the ipod, its all apple products. they just seem to me to be fashion accessories to me. And as a wee footnote, the iphone was by far not the first smart phone, they coppied all of their ideas for that from else where.

iPod. Though to be honest I can't listen to music with portable players; the music I like is so beautiful and I so sensitive that it has to be listened to in quiet surroundings.
Then why don't you get better earphones?
OT: iPod. There are no concurrents.

Both Ipods I have owned have stopped working for no reason. I got so sick of the constant repairs so I got a little cheap Sansa disk. It hasn't messed up yet and I love it.
