Absolutely not. Everything this man says manages to grate me in some way!

I can block the Zynga apps easily right now, and do not wish to have those apps be any more pervasive then they are now.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head, there, I'd say. If it were up to Pincus, the site would be called Farmbook.
Yeah, agreed. All he wants to do is make more money...so much more and dosnt care abouyt the social aspects of Facebook.

Basically what he's asking for is more of everything that makes Facebook awful. The more Facebook does to cater to corporations and advertisers, the more they distract from the site's core functionality, which is enabling individual people to communicate with each other.

Facebook? That's fine, go ahead. Have friends, it's fun, you should try it sometime.

Zynga? No. Not okay.

This is a bad idea. Live is for games, Facebook is for social networking. NOTE THE DIFFERENCE

If that did happen, I'd probably delete my profile. I only use Facebook to communicate with friends whilst I'm at uni... the last thing I want is the site becoming more app oriented. If I wanted to play games, I'd use my console.
It's just a way to increase Zynga's profits.

So this little snot can have more liberty about selling my details to the highest bidder, I think not, I don't even play the games on Face Book now, not for some months one reason being they are mind numbingly boring, and secondly so this little twerp can't milk any money out of me.

Having gone through most of Zynga's and other developers games and pretty much saying 'meh' to them all, I'm not a fan of this sort of implementation. I'd rather keep Facebook as a social networking not social gaming. Perhaps Zynga can make their own social networking-gaming site for those who want to do that.

I have to ignore/hide/block enough apps on Facebook to keep my news page clear, I don't want to deal with more!
It's like Zynga is some weird parasitic twin: it can't survive if it tries to cut itself loose, so it's trying to take control of the host (Facebook). Would anyone bother with Zynga's stuff if it wasn't connected to a social networking site?

Oh god no! I don't need 13-year olds cursing me out while I post stuff on my friend's wall, and I definitely don't need a monthly fee.

No, just no. Facebook is not a gaming site and it should stay that way. I've already thought about deleting my profile. If this happened I would do it without any hesitation.

Plus this guy is a scammer. Why should anyone listen to this retard?

I wanted to say that I'd join a Facebook that was like that, but then I realized it's Kongregate and I hate Kongregate even more than I hate Facebook. So that's that.

I would consider that a legitimate business strategy for them. There isn't any reason why they can't fine tune the interface just a little bit to help accommodate games. So long as they don't forget the primary function of Facebook as a social platform, I don't see why not.

Well whatever they do or whatever they don't do or whatever, the apps will still never find their way into my browser. Silly pointless things that they are. And anyways, why would I even want to play games on Facebook? I paid good money for my 360, tv and pc and I plan on getting my moneys worth from them!

Though I would thoroughly welcome a less obnoxious way for game apps to communicate with their users beyond clogging up the status updates feed, I think Pincus is somewhat missing the point. Facebook is first and foremost a social application, and although gaming fits very neatly into that category, it's not meant to be the website's focus. Could Pincus be hoping to tweak Facebook to better suit Zynga's interests?
I think that's absolutely what he's aiming to do, but I think he's got a pretty good idea to go with it. If Facebook's default experience becomes more modular, then it would be open to be dictated by apps how it should run. These apps don't necessarily have to be games, but they would allow the user to determine how they want to make use of Facebook rather than the other way around. I like the idea, especially if it means I never again have to see a Mafia Wars update.

I would support the idea of making Facebook more application friendly. In fact it's really the only reason I use Facebook, just for the games that it supports. Facebook already is a host to thousands of different casual game applications. Zynga is but one of many application developers that would support the idea of making Facebook more streamlined for games. It can be said that Facebook was originally designed for simply social networking, but it is obvious that the "face" of Facebook has since changed. It has evolved beyond it's humble roots to something that is the host of a great many applications. For this reason, Facebook would best make the change. Social networking games go hand-in-hand with social networking websites, it just makes sense. It is this intrinsic relationship which betters both parties.
