Here another one from Max Dood.
Either term works fine for me. Porn rarely comes up in my mind with I think the term hardcore. That said, at the time, it was a term that got thrown around too much with the whole casual vs. hardcore gamers debate back in the 7th generation. The term almost became esoteric in certain ways or just used as glorified buzzwords to buy games that are "M" Rated not "kiddie".As someone pretty much smack in between the two, that was really entertaining to listen to. Having said that, I think it might be a good thing to find a new descriptor for high end players, because “hardcore” has always sounded too much like something involving porn.
The irony is that GTA is no longer the supposedly anti-establishment. The series lost that title years ago. They are the establishment. And they've really done nothing over the years to improve the games much or innovate. Other than scale.
It doesn’t matter how big or ambitious GTA6 is anymore. I can see why one of the Houser bros left.
On steam?! That won't last long, the second nintendo gets a whiff of it they'll go apeshit. So this apparently happened today.
I remember Dan Houser saying they don’t know how they would even make another GTA game given the country’s current socio/political climate, to where it actually felt fresh. I really don’t know either what they could possibly be doing, but it’s almost guaranteed to focus more on live service and less on an actual scripted narrative. The irie is that GTA is no longer the supposedly anti-establishment. That's a problem with a lot of franchises that go on for a long time and are about that subject. It's why I don't even bother with South Park anymore.I remember Dan Houser saying they don’t know how they would even make another GTA game given the country’s current socio/political climate, to where it actually felt fresh. It’s crazy that show is still going. But then I think of The Simpsons and mind is fully blown. That's a problem with a lot of franchises that go on for a long time and are about that subject. It's why I don't even bother with South Park anymore.
