Considering Knuckles was Sonic's original serious rival before Shadow came along, it makes some sense. They're actually being true to the character as he was pretty serious in the beginning.
Was that suppose to be comedy? Talk about cringe. Oh and congrats to returnal I guess. Not a game I will ever play myself.
