So I watched Spider-Man: No Way Home last night, and I just need to talk about it.

I haven't been the biggest fan of Tom Holland's other Spider-Man movies, so this one quite easily topped both of those. For me, it was punching well into Spider-Verse territory. At the very least, it was definitely my favourite live-action Spider-Man film, and is definitely in my top 5 MCU movies.

This film is basically just 2h30m of the film beating you over the head with pure nostalgia, and I was 100% up for it.

When pretty much any returning character from the 2000's Spider-Man films or 2010's Amazing Spider-Man films walked onto the screen, the entire room just burst into cheering and clapping. I've never experienced anything like this before at the cinema, and the room was just full of so much energy, and so many people having just the best time.

Honestly, I don't think I have had this much fun watching a movie.

Shut the fuck up. Please. Don't do this to me. šŸ˜¢

But seriously, sounds like a blast. I really miss watching with an appropriately enthusiastic audience. I'm genuinely heartbroken that I won't be able watch this in theaters. Now the question for me is how the hell am I gonna survive 45 days without getting spoiled (even though I definitely will).

Interesting, I might actually go to see it then. I was just expecting it to be another "Marvel" movie and wasn't too enthused to go and see it honestly. I ain't doing shit at work this week so I can probably go and see it basically during work hours if there's a good show time for it that's in the late afternoon so I'm not late getting to the watering hole at night, that would be perfect.

I don't really get how people can't avoid spoilers. The only time (maybe not literally the only time but close) I've been spoiled by stuff was those goddamn IMDB thread titles on their forums that would show on the main movie page. Now I actually go to the Wikipedia pages for looking up movie stuff (like actor's filmographies and whatnot) as the IMDB pages have gotten so filled with bullshit compared to what they used to be like.

I saw a non-spoiler review in which they said it was as if they've spent 20 years writing this thing. Given that I think the last few Marvel movies (and all of the Disney shows so far) have been a hot mess of clumsy writing, this sounds terrific.

Takes me back to watching Austin Powers 2 in the theater. Being surrounded by hundreds of people belly-laughing was absolutely infectious. I was in tears, I was laughing so hard. I bought the DVD the day it came out, and was sorely disappointed that the magic from the theater didn't translate to my tv. I still love the movie, but I'll never forget seeing it with that crowd.

They're literally everywhere, if you can't avoid entire platforms. But the biggest offenders are YouTube videos, which will autoplay if you don't move your cursor for more than a second or have the spoilers in the titles themselves, and Google's suggested articles, which you will always see in a new tab.

Korey gave it a full price, and Martin gave him a matinee. They don't get into any spoilers. They'll save that for the next video.

Corner of No and Where
Saw it, and its great. It is. Its just a great time. I don't like the way it was marketed, I think it was incredibly dishonest and broke faith with the audience and opens a whole shitbucket can of worms about actors being honest in interviews and the value of trailers.
But the story and action were great, the emotional scenes were emotional, the comedy was comedic and I liked how they did a lot of the characters.
Having said all that, they not only failed to stick the landing at the end, their femurs shot up straight through their chest and into the ceiling dragging their guts and intestines out with it and spraying bile and shit all over the audience.
WOW! What the fuck were they thinking?! They've effectively removed Peter Parker from the MCU. There's no reason to bring him back, no one knows to call on him, and he's decided to just stick to stopping dudes from holding up sandwich shops in New York and most of his best villains have already been used. Plus with Tom Hardy apparently not in the MCU anymore which was a baffling stupid mistake, and Peter completely reneging on his promise to his best friends and deciding that no, with great power comes no responsibilities, this movie ends the Spiderman story, full stop. They're not going to reverse the spell, they're not going to have Peter decide a year or so from now to finally tell MJ and Ned, he's not going to be fighting/teaming up with Venom, Daredevil doesn't remember who he is, and the Avengers have lost a key member, AND any left over villains like Vulture have completely forgotten him. Who is left for him to fight? Kraven the Hunter? Hydro-Man?! Its such a step down to go from an Avenger in the Infinity Saga to just the friendly neighborhood Spiderman, especially because that hasn't been his comic theme for decades. I just remember how awesome it was to see Spiderman in Civil War, and this ending felt like Sony and Marvel taking away our toys saying its been five years, you had your fun, move on, you mustn't dwell, no more of this shared universe stuff. No more Spiderman teaming up with the Avengers, no more Falcon and Winter Soldier sharing cracks with him, no more Happy Hogan being a guardian and wanting Peter to be the next Iron Man, none of that having responsibilities and power, Peter just went with the power, no friends, no family, no one to look after, no responsibilities, just being powerful and betraying the trust of the last 2 people who loved him because he's decided he knows better than them, which was supposed to be the lesson he took away from the whole fiasco, but apparently he's taken the easy life. No more Avengers responsibilities, none of that "when you can do what I can do and the bad things happen, they happen because of you" mentality, none of that "I can't be the friendly neighborhood spiderman if there's no neighborhood". None of the drive that saw him stand up to Iron Man and demand he be allowed to do more than just protect Queens. Nope. None of that. Peter is all but reset as a person and character and they're going to spend the next 3 movies, I dunno, having him fall in love with Black Cat, realizing he has a duty to be more than just selfish, help save the world...and then have Dr. Strange undo it all a second time.
The move ends up feeling like a divorce between parents, and the kids are being split up and Sony is driving across country with Spiderman while Marvel is keeping the Avengers, and they're allowed one more sleep over before the move, and we get to the ending and the move happens and Sony made sure to cut all ties with the Avengers, Spiderman is his kid and he will do all the Uncle Ben's dying in the street he wants to!

Its a 10-the ending/10

I never had a problem getting stuff spoiled and I'm on Youtube quite a bit. I guess I don't subscribe to anyone that puts spoilers in their video titles or watch anything viewers of those channels watch or whatever. Also, I always have autoplay turned off. The only thing that could possibly spoil stuff for me would be the MSN news feed that I started using because a Windows update put it on our work computers in the system tray.

It's why I never bother with multiple trailers or cast interviews before movie launches for release. I don't look at that stuff until way afterward, and even then, I don't do that on a consistent basis.

Just make spider-man 4 Sony!
They kinda already did that with Peter B. Parker in Spider-Verse. A lot of his elements were based off the Raimi version, and a script of Spider-Man 4 that never got pass pre-production phase. If your statement relates anything to No Way Home, then say no more. I do not want to get spoiled, and I'll be avoiding this thread for a while now.

It was just a general feeling I have regarding the raimi films., it has nothing to do with no way home.

Where does one turn off the fucking autoplay... But yeah, it seems just being subscribed to a YouTuber who puts out comic book related content means I get to be recommended every video from dipshits who think filming spoilers on their phones in the theater and uploading it makes them cool.

Autoplay is that pause-like button (or play button for you as it's enabled) next the the CC button. It might be a per device setting vs account setting.

Oh no that's not the autoplay I'm talking about. If you hover over a video thumbnail, it will start playing the clip with no audio.

For example, that. It's not obvious, but that's a random frame from the video that played while I hovered my mouse over it. The actual thumbnail looks like this.
