Preferment woman, pregnant person. There's hardly a difference is there? The wording isn't a big deal and no amount of fake outrage will make it so. Everyone who claims to be worked up about ''pregnant persons'' is lying and fully aware they're just quibbling over semantics.
And yet there's hardly a difference to using the term females but a lot of women objected to that too.

There very much is a question of "really how far do we have to go to accommodate the 0.01%* here?

It's almost comically terrible because it's almost saying that if they say pregnant women then they think the pregnant Trans men and NB XX people will too stupid to realise it applies to them to.

It also has shades of what was an insult used by Trans individuals towards biological women by calling said women "Birthers" which started in a weird sort of area that I can only explain as Trans Incels who were trying to present themselves as being superior to biological women.

* Taking the approximation of 1% which is potentially an over-estimate numbers wise. Then halving it because people can transition either way then cutting it further to be the % of Trans men / NB people with XX chromosomes who then choose to try for or have kids themselves using their own wombs

I was listening to a podcast on the way to work and the doctor said pregnant women and then said "oh, I meant pregnant people" and he started cracking up. I'm thinking that can't be a serious thing and looked it up and on the official CDC page, it's there. It's just stupid and hilarious, it has nothing to do with being outraged, 99% of society is not gonna change saying pregnant women in favor of pregnant people. Just like people ain't gonna change up their pronoun game either. We aren't the people worked up about this stuff, we just find it ridiculous and funny and continue on with our days. A co-worker of a friend at work got outraged when he called her, not the wrong pronoun, but by her name because "she" wanted to be referred to as they and she didn't like he just called her her actual name, looks like names are offensive now too.

You are absolutely the people worked up about it, as you are the only people constantly brining it up. I don't really care how many friend of a coworker stories you have, especially when you're misgendering them in said story.

I wasn't, she's a she. I think it's the people asking for the changes that are worked up about it.

If western nations invested in African countries with the same predatory conditions as China she would probably be the first one to be outraged.
But China is a geopolitical rival of the evil western capitalist world so it has to be praised at all cost.

It's mocking how the U.S. (and Europe) vilifies China for doing pretty much the same shit America has been doing for decades, minus the wars. America is desperately pointing the finger at China, not because of the evil shit that they're up to, but because they're terrified of being booted to second place. So every move China makes in foreign countries is treated as an evil country spreading its influence, as opposed to America where it's presented as... freedom and prosperity, I guess?

Nothing is being praised or condoned in this tweet.

It's seemingly happily excusing China doing it.

You know it's possible to hate both but also realise China is being more predatory it would seem than the US ever was.

How is it excusing it? It's stating that China's actions in foreign countries are considered more evil than the U.S. for no other reason than them NOT being the U.S.

It would seem. It would seem, because America has for decades packaged its influence and weight on the world as 'Hey, we're the good guys, just let us do our thing'. And now that China wants to do THEIR thing in other countries it's seen as predatory.

How many military bases with nuclear weapons does China have on British soil?
From all the imperialist stuff done by the US putting bases in countries wanting their protection is really among the worst examples.
One could also ask how many artificial Islands with military bases the US is building in Mexican and Canadian waters so they can claim it as their own?

Are we talking about the same tweet which presents China's predatory investments which is very much like economic colonialism as "Building stuff in Africa"? If it was just building stuff in Africa no one would be complaining. But that's not what's happening now is it?

legally or illegally?

Because the answer to both may be "about the same number as the USA"

Also Nukes are the brute force answer, China is far more into the "use your enemies weapons against them" cyberwarfare

The same way way China tries to distract from it's human rights abuses by accusing other countries of human rights abuses?

Also the reason China is considered more evil is their actions can be shown to be so and that's just what we know about China.

Because the US didn't help build embassies with spying tech built into them.

The US is surprisingly not awful with it's reconstruction loans to other countries and regularly seems to be fine with non payment of debts etc or only interest payments.

No it's not, it's China doing shady shit to expand their influence. But because China's doing it it's seen as scarier than when the U.S. does it.

...Sure.

It doesn't need to, but only because it already did that about 150 years ago and successfully claimed the territory it wanted. Plus, if we want to expand from Mexico and Canada, the USA decided to take Hawaii, Philippines, Cuba; there's Guantanamo Bay and hardly a shortage of interventions in places like Nicaragua, Panama, and lower level interference all over Central and Southern America much more recently.

We might also note that the Trump administration challenged Canada's sovereignty over the Northwest Passage, which is incredibly clearly Canadian territorial waters (the USA relies on a dubious interpretation of international law).

More from Woke world

Not the article itself.
Just kind of funny that Netflix series about Vikings will have a historical Viking chief now played by a black woman.
Gotta make sure the raping and pillaging is racially diverse eh?

People used to laugh at the idea of Hollywood one day making the Vikings black and here's Netflix to make them black and women lol.

Key point of the info being they generally joined willingly or unwillingly as time went on and due to general travel / migration at the time you can assume they are likely a very small number.
