They've just reached an even newer level of stupidity. I am not even gonna ask how. These worm shit for brains can't even bother to remember common knowledge that is over three decades old.

People like that actually exist!

The funny thing is the woke lot were up in arms over the game too because the Vox Populi were shown as not exactly that nice and morally pure either with then deciding to turn round and kill Booker to keep their martyr story to use as propaganda and they weren't the glorious revolution people wanted them to be lol.

Engagement requires thought. It's so much easier to just accept everything at face value and let your betters do the thinking for you.
I would have posted this in the Woke world thread but it wasn't exactly one I felt worth posting as it wasn't from a high profile account but behold the woke take of Surrogates

Like the Tea Party are morons but at least it's very likely they didn't play the game, meanwhile this dude here watched Surrogates and this was his take away (for those who haven't seen the film, there's not any evidence the guy actually is Christian by the end and the cultists thing well I won't spoil it but they're anit-surrogates androids but their reason isn't the reason for the events).

The Tea Party. Now that's a name I've not heard in a long time. Remember when they were the extreme nutbags of the right?

Good times, good times.

This is an interesting point. One analysis I read suggested that Trump didn't really represent capitalists as often imagined: the "Elon Musk" idea of industrialists and creators, vibrant and innovative, who provide important goods and services for societal benefit. He represented the rentier side of capitalism: people who don't produce, but amass ownership of things people need and gouge rents out of the population.
Elon Musk himself is better described as the second sort.

I have no love for Bill Gates, honestly, but of all the shit to hate him for, it's being pro-vaccine?

That's like hating Jeff Bezos for saying "People should eat food".

The idiots think that Gates is putting chips in the vaccine so that he can track their movements. They say so on their phones, which are always on and transmitting their locations.

I'm also fond of this response/meme:

You aren't worth microchipping.
Prove me wrong.

I understand the sentiment, but rather than them chocking I'd prefer just getting rid of this whole ordeal and have them come to their senses on this one thing at least. I mean, they can still be racist, homophobic shitheads if they wanna, just can we please make this one thing go away? We already got environmental collapse breathing down our neck, and it'd sure be nice if this pandemic could serve as a litmus test for our willingness to tackle that.

In reality, the boundary could be viewed as thin. A businessman is in large part a shareholder, and a shareholder is nothing if not an owner.

However, the popular view of capitalists (by its supporters) is akin to that of the old industrialists: vibrant makers and doers driving society fowards. They were in contrast to the old aristocratic landowner model, who monopolised necessities like land and rented them out with little or no interest in their tenants betterment or progress.

One suggested reason for the UK's struggles is that the rampant increase in property values for the last 30 years has meant that it is more effective to make profit through buying houses, and so investment has flooded into acquiring property rather than industries that make and do stuff: and thus the UK has crummy business investment and R&D, with it's engineering and scientific sector fragmented, languishing and snapped up by vastly more successful foreign multinationals.

And to compare Elon Musk and Donald Trump, whilst we might not like either, Elon Musk really has funded inventions which may benefit the world widely, which no-one can say about Donald Trump.
