Gee this sounds familiar.

That article is written entirely off of fan reactions to leaked pictures. There's no dev quotes or even "insider" takes. Am I missing something? It doesn't seem like there's new concrete information on the design beyond a few more screenshots (which aren't even in the article due to copyright issues) like the ones we already had.

Who knows...we'll have to see how big of a deal it is once the game is out. It's pointless to fret over it either way but the bickering will be inevitable if this is any indication.

I think the underlying contention seems to be she’s not your typical buxom femme fatale eye candy looks-wise, but either way the ludicrousness of it all is it’s just a fucking game. It’s not like Aloy gives two shits about anyone playing, and even in the first game she’s always covered in protective apparel. Pretty sure anyone complaining at this point wasn’t even a fan in the first place.

Exactly. The people complaining were most likely not even going to play this in the first place, and we're looking for something just to be jackasses about. Acting like they knew everything about the game without barely looking at it or even playing it. This is nothing new in the gaming scene.

Also, I always preferred Kate Batello over Morgan Webb and Olivia Munn. I honestly forgot Olivia even existed. Then again, I stopped watching G4 around 2010. The show was at its best when the channel is still called Tech TV before the merge, and the show was called Extended Play. Before that, Extended Play was once called Gamespot TV. Adam was there from the very beginning, I don't remember the other female host. I just know she didn't last long and Kate came to the scene when they moved away from Gamespot. Change the name of their show, and the rest is history.

This lady in unbareable. First off I think anyone who does anything on the internet should be at least a little bit capable of taking a bit of trolling. Because no matter how good you are, you will get trolls. If Keanu Reeves started streaming, he would get trolled. Facts. Second of all there are a lot of clips of this new lady talking shit about a bunch of fucking nonsense and it is clear she doesn't know what the fuck she is talking about. She ranted about Xbox having all the exclusives this gen, and the listed a bunch of games that were on Playstation as examples of Xbox exclusives. So people watching the show live trolled about it.

Her rant about sexism is just trying to cover-up people who were talking shit about her not knowing shit about video games and the industry she works in. I feel that happens a lot, when these people get called out about something, they immediately play the sexism, phoia, racist card as like it is a fucking get out of jail free card excuse to not knowing what the fuck they're talking about.

The criticism of the show is the same pretty much everywhere you look. This host was out of line and when you are trying to build an audience, attacking them is probably not the best way to go about it. And frankly the rant comes across as a bit of jealousy that FrosK is upset she isn't found "bangable". It's just an unwarranted and nonsensical rant especially when she says that Jirard and the other hosts get the same comments that she does, except it's sexism when it happens to her and not sexism when it happens to them.

And since comments are never shown, all we have is her word that it's happening. You can't even go back and find any of the comments she is referencing. The whole rant seemed scripted, and just an excuse to call gamers sexist pieces of shit which has been Adam Sesler's go-to talking point for a long time. Even back at SGC 2013 when he was on stage with Jim Sterling.

These outlets are so determined to prove that gaming is such a piece of shit community, while at the same time trying to build gamers as an audience. It doesn't make any sense. Why are you trying to belittle and demonize the very people you are trying to appeal to? It makes no fucking sense.

Not that I care much for G4 TV, but I certainly don't care for the asshats that have these constant "G4 hates gamers or G4 is dead crap". I don't know much about the lady either, but even if she comes from insecurity, she's not wrong. Women still tend to get worse hate messages than men when it comes to videos on video games. That's really not an opinion. I guess you forgot about all the crap that happened in the 2010s. I personally have no need for G4, because there's plenty of content already that does what they do but better or more interesting. I highly doubt they're going to go away for a while, but I don't care either way.

Adam Sessler I still like to an extent, but I lost a lot of respect for him during the God of War Ascension video review in 2013. It came off as hypocritical and jumping on the bandwagon. You clearly didn't have a problem with God of War back then in your G4 TV or X-Play days. Why do you have a problem now that Kratos is beating up a woman that's trying to kill him? Where the hell were you when he killed all those innocent people in God of War II & III? The moment Kratos is fighting female villains that are trying to kill him and work for Aries, you all of the sudden have a problem now?!

No, but he clearly was jumping on a fad not to appear sexist and overcompensating. This was when Adam was working on the channel, Rev3. They started in 2012 and shut down in 2014. This is something noticeable in 2013 and 2014; especially the former year. I support feminism and actual positive portrayal of women in gaming, but two wrongs don't make a right. Especially when you're taking violence out of context. In that moment he became no different than someone like Jack Thompson or Fox News. He was guilty of this, Gamespot was guilty of this, IGN was guilty of this, and even Game Trailers became guilty of this before they shut down. I don't really like digging into pointing these men out tbh because it's a can of worms that I don't want to touch. But there are a lot of effeminent men, who get into the whole feminism thing because they think if they play the "ally" then that girl they like will finally sleep with them. I had a couple friends in the Navy that tried that shit with female crewmates and it never worked out. Playing the "ally" with women who hate men will not help your chances of them sleeping with you, it's barking up the wrong tree in a major way.

And you see it a lot in these movements. How many times have you seen these social movement leaders that end up with a bunch of shady dirty laundry aired about them? Because a lot of them are using the movement for clot and social points, not because they actually give a shit about it or believe in it.

I think it's hard go through life and have a perfect social credit score, and these people want to play thought police because if you've ever seen someone you don't know in public and thought they were hot that makes you a sexist. If you've ever thought that a certain group of people can't drive, you're racist. I doubt there is anyone on this forum or anywhere who has not had thoughts that if anyone knew about they would be chastized about them, at least in this new socially stunted world of hate.
