Someone pointed out that the game, right after launch, has a steam concurrent player count of "650ish" which I initially read as "650k". That doesn't sound bad at all, but then I reread it and realized that was 650ish. And even someone like me who doesn't follow player counts because I kinda don't care....yeah, that's fucking bad.
I heard about it every now and again but once I realized it was a live service game I pretty much stopped caring. Apparently I wasn't the only one. I didn't hear anything more about it until I saw the Castle Super Beast video talking about it and how it apparently screwed the pooch....or should I say, SE screwed Platinum.

BF2042 did get a lot of attention, just very little of it was good. They should be thankful nobody is talking about it right now.
