They're both jealous, because neither of their game(s) are no longing holding all the attention in the world. What bunch of bitches.
Not to mention they were foolish enough to take the bait of an obvious trolling attempt by some random Twitter/Reddit humor post.

Seems like that’s just the latest in a string of controversy surrounding this game.

There are rumors of a Sony State of play this month with big announcements within. Rumors are like assholes though, they all stink until...they get washed i dont know where i was going with that.

That Forespoken action RPG that looks very Isekai anime inspired has been delayed about five months. From May to October. Personally I forgot this game was a thing, and likely wouldn't have the time to play it this summer anyway with what I've already got on my schedule, so this delay actually gives the game a higher chance on being on my radar.

I don't know, they've been saying prices will come down for like a year now, so I'll believe it when I see it. Especially in light that all the chip manufacturers believe the shortage will continue for a while still, notably TSMC, who make the chips for both AMD and Nvidia. Sure, new fabs are being built, but those aren't built in a day.

I'm not surprised in the slightest. I do have mild curiosity for the game, as I find it more interesting than whatever else Square Enix is doing at the moment, and in the future. If it makes a better game, so be it. Hopefully they will get all the extra time they need.

Good thing, from the released footage that framerate was looking heinous. I'm actually kinda looking forward to this game, so hopefully they can fix that shit.

Usually I'm all in "delay are good" camp, but SE has a an history of delaying game a lot and releasing terrible product so I'm hoping it's not a sign that the game production is in horrible shape.

I actually pre ordered the game (cause it was on sale at -1/3), I get a bit of a dragon dogma vibe from it so hopefully it'll be interesting. Not into the isekai aspect but the gameplay looks fun.

Yeah, FF15 was in production for like 10 years or something and....well, it's pretty clearly unfinished. The fact they sold you parts of the plot as DLC and they cut out like half the plot to make a movie speaks volumes to this.

And apparently at one point Nomura wanted it to be a musical because he saw Les Miserables and was that taken with it.

Iirc correctly square had serious management problems back then and also were trying to forcably use their crystal tools pile of shit engine which made development a struggle.

Those are examples of in-house games though. Forespoken is developed by Luminous or whatever. Cant hold them to the same development hell rumors.

...is this sour grapes by proxy or something from these people? "How DARE they not ape our design philosophies! Don't they know how brilliant we are?!"
I feel like open world games are kind of badly designed just as a general concept. Either you have the Ubisoft way of bukaking fucking markers and shit everywhere. Or you go the barren waste of a world where things are spread everywhere but with no guidance to lead the player around.

But both have a lot of problems right? You either are generic, or you bank on the rewards being worth the long downtime of aimless exploration. Eldren Ring isnt even the only game to do this. I would argue that many indie games like minecraft, subnautica, and outer wilds have taken this same idea.

I dont understand what the fuck these developers are so butthurt about. I mean ubisoft games suffer not from open world bloat, but the feeling of copy pasta from game to game. If anything they should use ER as an example to dial their shit back. Look The Witcher 3 came out and Ubisoft immediately pivoted to make Assassin's Creed Origins more like what Witcher did. So there is no reason why they could take that same inspiration from ER and apply it to their games going forward. Who knows maybe theyll find a nice balance that could make a difference.

Overinflated ego, and an insecurity/superiority complex. Unfortunately, this is nothing new on the publisher and developer side of gaming. A cycle that feeds in to itself, and swings right back around in the gaming audience and those in the review sphere. There are good people, no duh, but you have many that are so far in asshole spectrum, whom shit on everyone to feel better about themselves.

Fyi, Itchio doing a charity games bundle for Ukraine. 10$ minimum contribution for like 990 games.
Like 95%+ of it is filler, but there's some real good stuff in there: Celeste, Wandersong, Baba is You, Minit, Towerfall, They Bleed Pixels, Superhot, Crosscode, Skatebird, a few others. Insane value for a tenner, and you're hopefully helping a good cause.

God bless people like this. Someone who isn't afraid to call out the standardized bullshits and want to try something new
“Let it be heard let it be noted that I lament greatly, and with (no?) satisfaction, that the Ubisoft formula that is (has?) permeated into all major AAA open world games 1/? (huh?)

I know Twitter speak is…often like digital shorthand in a way but maybe I’m too old and out of touch to get that last part especially.
