Why do you guys know so much about tanks?
Is it a weird fetish, or is this something any responsible informed citizen should have basic knowledge of?

I think the UK might care because for some reason I'm of the impression that we're more reliant on gas for heating than a lot of Europe is, combined with inexplicably having much less storage capacity. I'm stockpiling solid fuel in prep for next winter (appreciating that I'm lucky to be able to do so).So, seems like Russia finally threatened to cut off Western Europe from gas.
And ... no one seems to care. So much for the feared gas based influence on other countries.

Some people get super into sports, some go on about race cars, and some people talk details about tanks. It's as simple as that.

I honestly can't tell what is satire anymore. The Onion might as well close up shop at this point.
Might be a joke, but I like it.

America and Europe maybe getting oil from a new place.
The simple fact is, whatever damage the loss of Russian gas supplies would do to the economies of Western Europe is insignificant next to the degree to which it would cripple the Russian economy, and thus noone takes such threats seriously. So, seems like Russia finally threatened to cut off Western Europe from gas.

Accelerating longterm efforts to get off oil requires accelerated short term use of oil.Or we could, y'know, accelerate efforts to get off oil?

Part of me thinks that this move is very much connected to the Russian economy's focus on oil exports. You'd think they'd have started earlier.
