So does the Halo show really suck that bad or are some people mostly just talking shit out their asses? I have no interest in watching myself but I’ve also heard that it’s just ok.
It's not utter dogshit but it is firmly mediocre. Which in the era of prestige streaming TV that we're in, it may as well be dogshit.

As for ads, honestly wouldn't mind ads in live service games. Such as a billboard in the actual gameworld. Anything more than that though, aka anything I actually need to interact with, can go fuck itself.

They should really know better than this. I wonder if they’re getting emboldened from the surprising success of the Sonic movies.
What's funny is that they're still going all in on NFTs, despite them pretty much dying and no body wants to deal with the cursed digital "art". Aside from Ubisoft continuing with their deliriousness. Sega is going in on all of this like they did with Shenmue. They spent $75 million on Shenmue. Them putting all their money on multiple games with "NFTs and Metaverse", just spells even more financial doom for them, that I would not mind if Capcom or Nintendo bought them out. Should the worst happen.

Well, this is kind of what happens when you release games that are shit. And from everything I've seen, Babylon's Fall could solve the world's hunger crisis by being grade-AAA fertilizer.
No lie detected. They haven't been knocking it out of the park these last years. The last game they made they can take sole credit for and was universally well received was, what, Bayonetta 2? Transformers Devastation if we're more generous. Tho if adding the "also sold at least decently" caveat, it's probably Metal Gear Rising. Not entirely their fault. Some of their more smelly games were made on shoestring budgets with short dev cycles. Generally not conducive to quality. Tho even their quality work tends to not shift units. Feels like something they inherited from Clover Studios.

Nier: Automata did great too, along with the remake of the first game. Metal Gear Rising sold more than decent. Transformers Devastation sales were decent. The TMNT game did not do so hot.

EDIT: Bayonetta 2 was well received, but didn't sell well on the Wii U. Once it got to Switch, the sales more than doubled, and Nintendo was more than satisfied with the sales. Keep in mind, when Bayo 2 went to Switch, they kept the $60 price tag. Astral Chain sold well too on Switch.

yeah, they're really "the guys we call in to shine up our combat abit" and... every other aspect of the game design they kind of rough up on. MG:Rising was memorable at least as much for its coked-out insanity from the Kojima side as the action. Transformers was an actual clusterf*** if you got into the UI or upgrade system that was supposed to add some kind of depth. All of their games have been that "this really is too short and minimalistic to be flogging at the AAA price point".


Nier/Drakengard has passed through so many overseers at this point its ludicrous. But the remake seemed to do perfectly fine without Platinums involvement, so they mostly seem to have coat-tailed on their brief involvement for Automata.

I'd compare it to cases in film where the studio ups and has a VFX studio or a trailer company do the entire movie. You'll maybe get the lightning in your bottle once, but with a splatter of misses for every instance.

The thing is, most of their games are not that short. Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 will take your first playthrough about 10-12 hours on each game. Vanquish is a 6-9 hours first time. Metal Gear Rising is a standard 6-8 hours, but the game is all about the combat, and playing the harder modes. Plus, it got DLC support. Anarchy Reigns unfortunately suffers from the beat both campaigns that are very similar to unlock the true final boss/ending. The game was mainly about the multiplayer, but at least you can play with bots, and the survival mode is super addictive. LoK was sold at $15, Transformers Devastation (originally was going to be $30) and TMNT were sold at $50 (blame Activision on that), but TD is the best of the bunch and the most polished and fun. The loot aspects are fun to an extent, but once you got the weapons you crafted, you might as well almost all of your weapons you acquire each time you beat sections, challenges, or a stage.

Astral Chain is 11-14 hours your first run, and was sold at $60 with little complaints. That game did well on the Switch too.

Astral Chain was made by Platinum and that was a good game.

I guess you forgot about Minecraft: Story Mode by Telltale.


Clue is board game, and it did not have much of a plot, nor characterization either. Anything went with that adaption.

Also, Rampage had the humans turn in to giant monsters element removed for no reason, other than being "too silly". The movie works and did well, but it has moments that are dumber than any of the games.
