PFF Fans on twitter think that KH4 is a 2024 game. It's like they forgot it took 13 years for KH3 to happen
Yep. I decided to take a deeper look at wtf happened with KH3.
1. Reveal trailer too soon
2. They switched the engine mid-development
3. Spending time to learn (then) new UE4
4. The two above lead to the inability to keep the assets from the previous engine, forcing them to pretty much start from scratch.

The current situation with KH4 looks awfully similar to reason #1. Not sure if that trailer was made using UE5, but I hope it is. Otherwise it's thousand years of dormant once again. Or is importing assets from UE4 to UE5 easy? (I'm not a game dev, so i wouldn't know)

The trailer is UE4. Tho moving from 4 to 5 is supposedly relatively easy.

I do know Sora has a more realistic look to him now. So odds are it's running on Unreal Engine 5. I couldn't care any less if I tried.

Weren't there also issues with licensing and which Disney worlds would be in the game?

So gameplay trailer for OW2's new character Sojourn is out. Can't complain too much about her design and kits; Shee seems original enough.

But idk, the more I see gameplay of this game, the less I'm convinced for the time investiment. It looks like nothing huge has changed, save for some kit tweaks, character model re-designs, and some new game modes. I'm already drifting away from competitive pvp genre, and it's getting less convincing. Where are the talk about balancing of heroes? Why 5v5? How exactly will OW2 innovate from first game?

I think the final straw will be when/if Blizzard confirms everyone has to play $40-60, regardless of whether they own the first game or not. I am not paying AAA price for the same shit again

With how everything is going recently in the lawsuit case, I won't even imagine myself thinking about picking up the game. Not even if the game was free. Somethings are not worth it, nor the blood money they cause. Activision can die and be dragged to the darkest pits of hell for all I care.

Do you know how sick I am of white dudes with short dark hair and stubble in games? And I'm one myself! Let me have something unique! I've had all the different permutations of "my ideal self"; it's not even entertaining anymore! How much of an egolord does someone have to be to desperately need to see themselves- and only themselves- represented in everything everywhere?

Honestly, it's so generic that if there's a character creator or even a choice between Male/Female versions of the same character, all things being equal* I'll probably go for the lady version because.....why not? I get to be a white dude IRL, if I'm slaying dragons or flying spaceship, maybe I want to be something else. Even if I never see said character because I'm covered in plate armor like in every FROM game or the game is entirely first person so I never see anything but a gun or something. If there's a non-human option, like an Argonian or if ME let you play a Turian or something, I'd go with that.

*For example, VA isn't notably better/worse, one of the doesn't look super derpy, etc.

I am glad he got out the games dev biz and left behind a legacy of a game. Also what he said 10 years ago still holds water.

Never had a Wii, or Wii U before.
You can still play NMH1 and NMH2 on Switch. They're on eShop, and physical copies can be found at Best Buy, if your lucky. Both ports come with Pro Controller support. So you don't have to use Joy Cons, if you don't wanna. That said, they work just as good as the Wii counterparts. There was a port of NMH1 on PS3 and 360m but we don't talk about those. The 360 version stayed in Japan, and the PS3 version was published in the West by Konami with PS Move Support.

I figured he was out of the games biz. Now I wish he'd stayed out, because man, this is just sad.

BTW, RIchard, what happened to that other MMO you tried to launch? Tabula Rasa? How did that work out for you?
