There's a rumor about it since I guess it showed up on Nvida leak or something, some games of which HAVE actually been announced for real.

I have a horrible feeling that 7.2 is taking so long because Nomura keeps trying to turn it into a musical because he REALLY, REALLY likes Les Mis, apparently, and the actual writers keep having to lock him in his office with executive toys to keep him busy until they can get the game done. That's my crazy theory at this point of what's going on at SE. PROVE ME WRONG, SE!

Really, I'm getting the sneaking suspicion that Yoshi P is the only Exec at SE that isn't constantly high off his own farts to the point of brain damage, considering how badly all their other products seem to be lately.
Yoko Taro is a pretty chill dude, though he can go a bit too far with gameplay gimmicks or certain forced segments in his games.

Does Yoko Taro work for SE though? I know Nier Automata was basically him, Platinum and SE all working together on a project but I don't know how much SE was actually invovled in the actual production vs publishing. And honestly at this point Nier Automata feels like a fluke considering a lot of the other projects lately.

Hey all, trying to give a shout out to a streamer and video maker I follow. Some of you may know him as the guy that figured out how the hell the game Pumpkinhead: Bloodwings works. He does a stream almost every Thursday and he's very personable, attentive to chat, fun, and knowledgeable about obscure games. If you ever have time, come drop in on one of his streams.

This was the stream from last week where he decided to take on Silver Surfer. Maybe give a bit of this a look to at least see what kind of person he is and if he's your speed.

Yoshi P being in charge of 16 is pretty much the only reason I haven't wrote it off yet.

7p1 did finish on a promise to make the rest of the game very different (in imo a much less interesting direction) so they may very well end up doing something dumber than the musical.

We actually have a game that's also a musical already.

Yes. Always has been. Ever since the first Drakengard game. All he did was collaborate with Platinum. He does not work for them. Taro has always been with Square back when they were still Soft and not Enix.
I somehow didn't realize that, and I'm actually kinda Familar with the Drakengard series. I even watched a playthrough of it and Nier to get the background for Nier Automata....and read the translated book/manual thing thing that explains everything that happened between the games.Seriously, there's a lot going on that the games only vaguly allude to. Like all the shit with the WCS that leads into Nier's intro.

Is it....good?

I've never heard of it until you mentioned it.
It is not. If you've ever played a crappy RPGmaker game that's how it feel like, except every hour you get a song. You'd think it would have at least a really good soundtrack, but nope its super generic. Actually the sprite work is probably the only part of the game that's above average.

Example of song

I guess its kinda impressive that they translated all the song, maybe they're better in Japanese?

I'm not so sure. I think Taro does not actually work for Squenix, in the sense that he's not directly employed by them like Nomura or Yoshi P are. At least, I've been unable to find any indication he is, unlike the other two. Might be that Taro is technically independent, but so closely tied to Squenix through exclusive collaboration, that he might as well be considered one of theirs. Kind of like HAL Laboratory and Nintendo.

Given the quality of most translations at the time, I'm inclined to believe the Nihongo is at least better even if it still isn't good but I'd have to listen to it. Haven't played the game myself, it's just part of my wealth of game trivia.

With how many games he has under the company name (nearly all of them), Taro might as well be jumped in the hip with them at this point.

Fornite keeps adding Street Fighter characters! 2/3 that cameoed in the game, don't use guns! Chun-Li is a cop/Interpol agent, so at least that makes sense.
