Driver San Francisco
Emulating the PS3 version on PC. Why do that when there's an actual PC version, you ask? Well, the game got delisted so you can't get it fully legit anymore, so the only option for PC is buying from grey market key resellers like G2A or Kinguin, and because the game is delisted, they're not selling it cheap. Like €50-60+. Meanwhile, my local Game Mania had a secondhand PS3 copy for a tenner. And besides, emulating works really well. No glitches or crashes. Faster loading. Rock solid 60 and way higher res. Might as well be running native.
Anyway, should probably say something about the game itself. Not an avid racer, so I'm not really sure how the actual driving measures up to other racing games. Feels like it is really easy to get into a drift, but on the other hand it's also easy to regain control. I don't know, I'd maybe describe it as arcadey. The car switching mechanic is of course a lot of fun and stopping a perp dead in their tracks by frontally kamikaze'ing a semi truck right up in their grill will never get old. Love the 70's sort of Startsky & Hutch lighthearted vibe it's got going tho, and thewriting is often pretty good and actually kind of funny too, if perhaps a little hokey.
