So, very long shoot, but it seems the counter attack might have seriously shaken russian faith in the army and, by extension, Putin. This could maybe lead to stronger push for a change in leadership, probably not but its not impossible. That's the upside.
The downside is that Putin still has two serious arrow in his quiver, general mobilisation (which would be dangerous for him in its own way) and lobbing nuke around. I wonder what the global reaction would be a if a nuke was used in a civil war...
