Am guessing he's one of those "Dr's of theology" types, otherwise the entry bar must be worryingly low.
You know, I've been thinking about this.....

Wouldn't free 5G chips installed be a wonderful thing? I assume I get free wifi too, otherwise the what's the point of installing chips? Can I wifi/bluetooth to my phone to reduce my bills? Does it only work in cities or will I get service when I visit my bro on the farm?

Suffice to say, the threat of 5G chips is not a threat at all

I'm glad, if nothing else, that you've come to a conclusion completely at odds with the Catholic Church's historic and present stance on this matter.
I would say that the Pope has to, generally, be dragged into treating people fairly. That is seperate from individual churches who can be supportive but have to say certain words to follow the company line

I smell lawsuit. Also, by denying her right to do so, the Church disrespected the wishes of the dead. CoE can fuck right off. They know this is wrong, and actually a bigger sin than homosexuality can ever be.

Not the smartest move people. You should have checked the bag when the opportunity more than presented itself.

By Tim Stelloh and Marin Scott
A high school counselor and a dean unknowingly gave a shooting suspect a backpack containing the pistol and magazines officials say he used to kill four people and injure seven others in Oxford, Michigan, last year, a lawyer representing victims’ families said Thursday.
The exchange happened in the hours before the shooting, in a meeting at which the suspect, then 15, had been summoned after a math teacher found a notecard on his desk showing a gun, a bullet and several disturbing phrases, including “blood everywhere” and “the thoughts won’t stop,” lawyer Ven Johnson told reporters.

Details of the exchange came from depositions school officials provided after several families sued the Oxford Community School District in federal court last year.
The suit, which seeks $100 million in damages, accused the district of gross negligence and argued that the Nov. 30 shooting was “entirely preventable.”
During the meeting with counselor Shawn Hopkins and dean Nicholas Ejak, the student became "really worried" about missing chemistry class and asked for his homework and backpack, Johnson said.
Hopkins went to retrieve the bag, Johnson said. According to Hopkins' testimony, Johnson said, the counselor commented on the backpack's weight after the teacher gave it to him.
After he returned to the meeting, Hopkins gave the bag to Ejak, who passed it to the teen.

"Neither one of them, according to their testimony, even thought for a second to ask ... 'Hey dude, show us what's in there,'" Johnson said. "'We just want to make sure everything is cool.'"
Hopkins told the suspect’s parents, who attended the meeting, that if they didn't seek help for their son within 48 hours, he would report them to the local child protective services agency.

The student returned to class around 11 a.m. and is accused of opening fire just before 1 p.m., Johnson said.
Johnson said some school officials missed other red flags, including an incident Nov. 29 when the suspect's teacher saw him looking at images of bullets on his phone.
After the teacher began reviewing his classwork and noticed his interests "leaned toward the violent side," Johnson said, she reported what she had found to other school officials, including Hopkins. Johnson said neither official appeared to have investigated the matter.
In another incident earlier in the year, Johnson said, the suspect's Spanish teacher asked Hopkins to speak with her student because of an autobiographical poem indicating that he felt "terrible and that his family is a mistake."
Hopkins followed up with the teacher, who said she was no longer concerned because she believed the student was talking about homework, not his life, Johnson said.
A lawyer for Hopkins and Ejak did not respond Thursday to a request for comment. In a court filing, lawyers for the school denied allegations in the families' lawsuit and described some of them as inaccurate.
The teen has pleaded not guilty to two dozen charges, including murder. His parents were also charged with involuntary manslaughter and have pleaded not guilty.

I didn't, but if I did, that is a silly thing to be glad about.
To be a person, you also need to not be any other person. That is a "restriction" and you could, if you wanted, frame it as "repressive", but doing so is ultimately meaningless because there isn't any alternative to being a person. Other than dying, I guess.
There is no alternative to being a person, which is why I find it odd that you think there are prerequisites. I don't think drawing extraneous distinctions between yourself and others is necessary or even helpful for a person.
Queer life is harder in some ways and some people break under that hardness, but it can also be extremely joyful, liberating, empowering and beautiful.
Ok, but if it is, it is. If you write a memoir about how you were uncomfortable pretty much every step of the way, that isn't joyful or liberating. You and Silvanus are both convinced I'm afraid of or uncomfortable with or condemnatory of anyone with a different lifestyle than my own, and that's not it. This book is not the story of someone who felt joyful and liberated.

The first step to the cyberpunk dystopia will be the first people getting USB-C in their necks to interface with devices only to have an HDMI update carry data and supplant USB, leaving the early adopters out to dry.

Or having to buy conversion dongles to hang out of their necks.

This likely belongs in the jan 6 thread perhaps, though that seems to have run off to greener pastures. Some crumbs of justice to scrabble at like starved frail husks?

I can't...the article is denied! I don't have permission?? (I'll give you 'denied permission' you scheming gits...)

Doug Jensen, a January 6 rioter who stormed the US Capitol wearing a QAnon T-shirt and chased after the lauded US Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman, was found guilty on Friday of all seven counts he was facing.

The Iowa man was one of the first rioters to enter the Capitol building, according to the government.

"Doug Jensen would not be stopped on January 6 until he got what he came for: to stop the peaceful transfer of power," federal prosecutors said during their closing arguments.

The most serious charge, obstructing an official proceeding, carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.

A penalty hearing is planned for 16 December.

Jensen’s lawyers argued during the trial that he wasn’t armed, didn’t appear to coordinate with other rioters, and shouldn’t be punished for the larget effects of January 6.

“Jan 6 is not sitting at that table; Doug Jensen is," his lawyer Christopher Michael Davis said in his closing statement.

Police in the Capitol during the January 6 riot painted a differnt picture of Jensen.

US Capitol police Inspector Thomas Lloyd testified that the Iowa man was “arrogant” and “cocky” and the “leader of the mob at that point” by the time they encountered each other.

“He knew he had a lot more muscle behind him than I did,” Mr Lloyd said.

Prosecutors also showed video of Jensen chasing Officer Goodman up a stairwell.

The officer is credited with risking his own life to divert a group of angry rioters away from the nearby Senate chamber.

He was honoured last year for his heroism with a Congressional Gold Medal, and he escorted vice-president Kamala Harris to the presidential inauguration.

“It looked like something out of medieval times, where you see one big force fighting another force,” he said in June.

So far, federal officials have charged more than 870 people from 48 states with crimes related to the January 6 insurrection, according to the US Department of Justice.

I've argued(and many before me as well) that an All-Knowing, All-Powerful, All-Loving God is a contradiction in terms based on the observable reality, because what we see is flawed, often hostile/cruel and not remotely fair, which is the opposite of what one would expect from such an entity. And completely at odds to how the bible depicts him/it/they(depending on how many gods god happens to be at the moment).

That's not even going into the actions of christians throughout history or the concept of eternal damnation in general.

That's the very short version of why I'm an athiest/agnostic.

Do not be alarmed, as this is good news.

The United States Department of Homeland Security has awarded a nearly $700,000 grant to terrorism and security researchers to investigate "radicalization" through video games.

As reported by Vice, the funds are headed to Middlebury Institute's Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism (CTEC), the non-profit organization Take This, and a company looking to curb toxic online behavior called Logically.

“Over the past decade, video games have increasingly become focal points of social activity and identity creation for adolescents and young adults. Relationships made and fostered within game ecosystems routinely cross over into the real world and are impactful parts of local communities,” the grant announcement on the DHS website said. “Correspondingly, extremists have used video games and targeted video game communities for activities ranging from propaganda creation to terrorist mobilization and training.”

One of the goals of this new project is to develop a "set of best practices and centralized resources for monitoring and evaluation of extremist activities as well as a series of training workshops for the monitoring, detection, and prevention of extremist exploitation in gaming spaces for community managers, multiplayer designers, lore developers, mechanics designers, and trust and safety professionals,”

The announcement notes that video game studios of all sizes, in many cases, are not fully educated on how these extremists may try to exploit their games in an effort to radicalize the players. White nationalists have unfortunately found a footing in this space, as there have been groups on Steam who were "openly espousing Neo-Nazi beliefs and worshipping school shooters" in the past." Steam has attempted to remove these groups, but the people behind this grant want to go further.

Take This' Dr. Rachel Kowert and CTEC's Alex Newhouse shared some of their early findings at this year's Game Developer Conference, and it confirms that the initial focus will "lean towards white nationalism and white supremacy." Hopefully, their efforts will make some lasting change in this industry and beyond.

This effort comes in a time following the racially motivated mass shooting in Buffalo, New York, that was broadcasted on Twitch and saw ten people killed and three more injured.

Pointless Indian and Falun Gong Fake News Trash.

So basically Indian troll accounts plus Chinese dissenters all spread the fake rumor that Xi the leader of China was coupled by the Chinese military. Explain to me what was the point of this bot campaign.

Indian media is like the boy who cried wolf. Plus Modi is an anti-muslim fascist, and so is the Falun Gong leadership who wants China to return to emperors. Maddness.

Man, your use of coupled here threw me for a loop

Explain to you the point of the bot campaign? You are assuming that any of this needs to make sense. Do you expect sense out of Qanon? Do people believe Q even when most things they say are proven false? The Big Lie election? Anti-masking vaccine deniers? You do NOT need arguments to make sense for people to believe in it

I might add that Modi is a nationalist as well. He usually goes speak well of Europeans... but he doesn't send squads in to kill whites like he does Muslims

Yes. More than you're sorry butt ever has to offer. Not my fault you don't keep track, cuz you're too busy goal posting and making crap up. Exactly why I have you on ignore.
I have been keeping track, that's why after you chose to fling some crap I'm calling you out for the hypocrisy.

The post that started this little chain of replies I shall remind you want you saying nothing and just posting 1 hour worth of Toasted videos.

Jesus, if I'd have posted 1 hour of The Quatering in return you'd have been flipping you lid for pages worth of posts and don't even pretend you wouldn't.

And you are part of the problem and exactly what DT was talking about. The hypocrisy and double standards. If the actor playing her was white, you wouldn't have said a damn thing and you know it.
Oh you mean the double standard of claiming it's about diversity and representation but then making a black girl not be able to have her natural hair colour?

So representative of Black girls everywhere the red hair.

Really says something there "Yes we want you to be represented but you can't actually have your natural hair you must change it to fit in with white people".

Which if you'd been paying attention and not blindly regurgitating points from some influencers you'd remember was a talking point a year or two ago and before that a talking point in relation to society and the corporate environment. But hey why would I expect you who claims to care about said kind of issues to remember something like that? How awful of me.

I also like the fact you didn't actually address the argument, you're still regurgitating points from some youtubers / influencers arguing against an argument I didn't make.

So this time can you actually respond to what I'd said not the strawman just because you have easy arguments vs the strawman.

I'm going to take advice I've already learned and not going to explain it to you, nor getting into a dumb argument about it. Don't like it; watch something else.
....... and watch the normal series of articles about how it's failure is due to awful racists refusing to see it. You know rather than me not wanting to see it because have you seen it, like have you seen how plastic like the CGI looks? How drab it all looks? Hell that set is a back area of some ride in a Disney park, how do I know? It's the same set they used regularly in the Mortal Kombat Conquest TV series. black white or green it wouldn't matter what colour the main actress is the film looks bad already. But that won't be the narrative of why it failed and the worst part of all this? The worst part? You and others will still happily push racism as why it failed.

Because it's true. You can't please everyone, nor should you strive to do so. Now I'm ending this conversation, because you have nothing of value to offer as usual. Don't bother responding to anything else. Spoilers: I won't be reading.
You haven't even managed to reply to my argument yet lol so you'd said a whole lot of nothing here.

Also apparently it went over you head that the whole "Damned if you do damned if you don't" is something regularly said in what you would call Anti-woke circles. Mocking how it's never enough for "woke" people and how if you do make changes to appease them they will complain it's not enough but if you don't they'll complain you're some form of bigot.

At this stage, don't read what I have to say all you like but it just shows how you actually just blindly follow some youtubers and influencers and can't engage or really think for yourself and construct your own cogent arguments anymore, you're so reliant on others to give them to you.

It's rubber. The character doesn't have a penis. You'd know this it you had done any research whatsoever into the topic you're ranting about.

The entire rest of the post is just a string of shouting, insults and accusations, all predicated on that mistake you made, so it's irrelevant.
Still designed to look like one and based on what I saw coloured to look like one too.

It'll be a great day when Dwarvenhobble realises that: 'They only got the job due to their race' is how the Affirmative Action law was created
ROFL, and it'll be a greater day when you and others realise doing the same in return is not what affirmative action should be and it's highly patronising along with being something that's been going on for years in various places and called out for the patronising racism of low expectations that it is.

Hell I listened to a Radio comedy from 1992 the other day and even back then they were taking the piss out of it.

Sir Lenny Henry has been mocking that tokenism idea for years.

It "dives heavily" into the effect of pornography without depicting pornography. Which is extremely easy, and extremely common.

The one illustration under discussion here is of an effort by the protagonist to emulate a sex act despite not having the genitals, and concluding that it was ineffective.

You know, full well, that it's not intended to be arousing. Because you're not stupid, and it's completely obvious. And that's the single definitive characteristic of pornography and erotica, which is clearly lacking here.
So you'd be fine to have young teens reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and it's graphic rape scenes because they're not sexual?

(reads the last couple pages) And conservatives wonder why everyone else thinks of them as the anti-fun party.
And when the argument is in relation to children and young teens and the argument is over giving them unsupervised access to material that has been deemed inappropriate for them it's hilarious how self proclaimed "Progressives" keep wondering and why they keep been accused of being groomers.

I'm sure plenty of kids back in the day loved their "build your own miniature working reactor nuclear reactor" science kits that came with their own piece of radioactive uranium. Damn those conservatives for ruining the fun kids could be having with such stuff now.
