Testing out the Red9 on my 3rd playthough, and got it maxed out already. I use it and Silver Ghost. Makes a nice back up pistol. Both are in my top D-Pad weapon swaps. I still dislike they took away the laser sight for it, but I get why.

One other thing... Capcom, stop highlighting auto-saves, it only spoils that something important is going to happen.
It's called convenience. Plus, most of the autosaves didn't spoil much for me. Besides they got to do something to keep people playing and not lose their progress. Besides, they've been using obvious autosaves in their Resident Evil games since 5.

A game can autosave without highlighting it, I don't think it was ever really an issue whether people realized it was happening in that second.

Yes, but a majority games don't do it anyway. Even in the Indie & AA there's either some type of little bar, icon, a little animation of a character or some spiraling circle. Even with the auto saves, there are scares that caught me off guard or I didn't see coming. Granted, so cuz I wasn't paying attention in the heat of the moment. Or too focused on my attache case.

Minor nitpicks:
I found melee kicks to be really hard to pull off sometimes. Generally, It's easy enough but sometimes I would rush over when I see an opportunity, and I would still have the window, I press the button, but Leon does nothing and the enemy gets up. I guess it has something to do with FOV and I need to aim my camera to certain angle, but as long as I'm in the general area can't it count?

The symbol for kick vs knife should be different, especially against chainsaws and brutes. They get stunned, I see the little arrow pop up, I rush over, only to knife when I should've kicked, and kick when I could've knifed. All because the approriate symbols only appear when I'm next to them and I have a spilt seconds to make the decision.

Relating to my complaint about the inability to buy ammo, there really wasn't much I wanted to buy, and I only found weapon upgrades to be worth spending money on. The upgrades themselves costs so much at this point, Not even getting the treasures and putting gems in the scokets are enough to cover a single upgrade. I guess the point is to be more strategic with what guns I want to use and what I want to upgrade, but I'm already down to using Red9, Striker, SR M1903, and Killer 7. I want to be prepared for all situations, and the high cost of upgrades doesn't really let me do that.

Those are different buttons (and shapes) altogether on Playstation. What are you playing on?

PC. I know they are different buttons (f for kicks and left click for knife), but what i mean is from distance they have the same double down arrows on stunned enemies. I rush over, and even though the game shows different symbols between kick and knife when I'm near them, the split-second decision in front of Brutes causes me to press the wrong button.

Really wish F or left-click symbol can be seen from the distance

Alright, done with my first playthrough. Contemplating on whether I want to to the 2nd playthrough on professional.
  • Didn't know about the 2nd playthrough, and sold all the gems I had at disposal before Saddler fight. Then I saw the merchant selling treasures.🙃 I could go back to the save, but that boss fight was really annoying on hardcore, and I don't wanna do it again.
  • Apparently the merchant still sells yellow herbs, but with Leon's HP already maxed out I guess it's pointless to buy?
  • Are there any more guns to unlock?
  • Which guns are recommended on professional? I did fine with Red9, Striker, SR M1903, and Killer 7 on hardcore
  • Recommendations on how to to deal with low ammo, asides from getting the attache case figures? Handgun ammos drop all the time so no worries there, but I found rifle and shotgun ammo to be hard to come by, nevermind magnum ammo. Ammo scarcity became a serious problem starting around the later portion of the castle
Or I could go back to Dead Space Remake and do the NG+ there.

The crossbow apparently allows you to retrieve bolts from enemies, they won't break, so you can save ammo that way. Never used it myself though.

I used it briefly, but soon just stopped using iit. The bolts themselves didn't seem to do too much damage. You can attach explosives, but it goes back to the issue of not finding crafting materials often enough to make them

Apparently they're review bombing the game too. Partly over Ada, partly because they cant upskirt Ashley anymore. Game too woke, they say.

Umbrella created the woke mind virus.
The toxic part of the Resident Evil fan base needs to be dropped, hard. Would you sexist and racist fools kindly sit down, and shut the fuck up? Capcom doesn't give a crap about you.

Also @Chimpzy, Umbrella is dead by that point (other than Wesker). It would be Tricell creating that dumbass term of a virus name.

So I decided to say "fuck it" and started my professional run.

Turns out Red 9 does an insane amount of damage, especially with the special upgrade. Villagers goes down with one or two headshots, and sometimes I don't need to melee. Hell, I even saw the thing blow up their arms! And since handgun ammo still drop regularly, I think I may have overestimated professional difficulty (this statement will probably come back to bite me in the ass lol)

I don't think I'll be getting A-rank because I am determined to find every collectables, so the tommy gun will have to wait

The Red9 or the Silver Fang (default pistol) at max and exclusive upgrades, can two shot most regular enemies. The novistadors go down in one or two hits when you have the default pistol at max upgrade. Not to mention that five times the damage critical hit from SF.

I finally managed to A Rank on my 3rd playthrough on Normal. I'll try Hardcore to unlock some extra achievements. I am going to skip most of the side quests, as I already got the things I needed for Hardcore.
