How has Phil not been fired yet? How? He clear has no fucking idea what the fuck is going on.
Because he was able to turn the ship around with the X1. The investors and executives at top wanted out of the console race, because they were acting like brats that the X1 wasn't doing too hot at the time. He was able to convince him to keep in the competition and improve sales. Once he goes or they decide to let him go, that's it. They're going to go right back to the same attitude and just bow out of the console race, and take their ball with them.

Maybe they should. Maybe Microsoft should take the SEGA Route and just make games and forget about the console. Put Halo on Playstation, Switch, and PC and just become a massive 3rd party publisher without having to worry about hardware or keeping up with console demands.

Well there you have it. You heard it from the main man himself. Xbox is officially the weakest platform when it comes to games. It almost feels like this is the beginning of the end; Like, MS is gonna shut down the whole Xbox department in the next few years
Well that was surprisingly honest.

I don't pay much attention to the console space so I wonder how they are doing sales wise...

At the end of 2022, it was estimated by Ampere Analysis that sales (of Xbox series X and S) had reached 18.5 million.

Sales of the PlayStation 5 reached 20 million units by May 31, 2022.

Uhhhh.... that is not that far behind. That sounds like unless someone at Microsoft or Sony make a major mistake both the systems will have an instalbase which is nothing to sneeze at. Sure, PlayStation might end up the bigger dog, but that is just business as usual.

EDIT TO CLARIFY: Do note that Microsoft's numbers is (a) an estimate (b) conducted after Microsoft had had an additional 7 months of sales in 2022, which included Christmas season.

Anyway, if Microsoft is pushing GamePass I understand that. We are talking about the company whose biggest product is a piece of software known as Windows OS. It makes sense that they'd be much more interested in making sure everyone uses their software based solution rather than their hardware based solution. MS Office is subscription based nowadays, after all.

All the more ironic, as that's what the Sony or Microsoft Fanboys wanted at the time and we're hoping that either of their respective consoles would crush and kill Nintendo. And then you have those who want it Mario and all consoles, out of the sake of convenience and not knowing how to video game market works. These were usually frustrated or disgruntled parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, or people trying to please their bratty kids while not bothering to look up anything.

So Microsoft is pretty much crying over spilled milk. Got it.

Don’t forget PS5 has a custom CPU (again), as well as custom cooling, I/O, etc. which means the chip shortage hit them extra hard. They’ve only just now stated, three years later, that console shortages should be behind them.

Microsoft probably was affected a bit too, but the difference is far fewer people wanted one in the first place.

Also those Xbox numbers are combined between two technically different systems the Series S and the Series X. The X also had shortage issues, but the S didn't really because it didn't seem like many people wanted it.

And shortage issue with the Series X didn't even last that long compared to the PS5. When the PS5 still had shortages, most places were fully stocked with Series Xs.

So they gave up because they felt they'd already lost. Then why the hell are they trying to buy ActiBlizz? Something's rotten in Denmark Redmond.

Seriously, I don't understand why my state (WA) has to have all these bullshits from gaming companies.

Microsoft is fucking over their own product
Amazon failing with making its own games, on top of poor worker treatment
WOTC is sending literal Pinkertons to someone who got their order wrong
Valve is doing jack shit

The only saving graces seem to be Nintendo of America

DF on Redfall; Seems they aren't as brutal on this game compared to JS in terms of technical issues, but the base game is just mediocre
I think they realize that even if the game ran great it would still be a shitty game. JS however would be great if it also ran great.

That's pretty normal for DF, they're usually diplomatic about the quality of a game's gameplay. They're just measured in general, not quick to call something bad unless it has really egregious technical problems. Which says a lot about Jedi Survivor pc that it earned adjectives like "worst" and "terrible".
