I don't know nor can I tell you what's going to happen. I don't know how this anime is going to go down. Interrupt me, I would just do classic Lara with her own self contained adventure and be dealt with it. You all know by now that I'm not a hardcore Tomb Raider fan. I was always casual with the original franchise and have no interest in any of the reboot games.

I do wish the anime the best of luck and for these people to try. It's just a teaser so there's not much to go off of. It doesn't look as depressing as the 2013 game. I would still take this over Elfen Lied & Higurashi though.
My point was just that violence in itself isn't particularly interesting in anime, you need more to it. Higurashi has violence mixed with people going crazy, Elfen Lied is torture porn, Hellsing is (At least with Alucard) a power fantasy. The reboot story isn't very interesting in an anime because the themes of the game have already been done in anime.

The original Tom Rider series, though, that feels like it has more legs in an anime because a globetrotting treasure hunter is much less common than gritty violence and survival.

To try and sum up my view, this anime doesn't stand out enough. The market has plenty of stories similar to it while bringing more to the table.

Higurashi does nothing for me, and it's people going crazy and violent each time loop is just one big meme everyone reposted. Most people don't actually watch the show nowadays aside from old otaku. Elfen Lied is boring torture pornI do not enjoy and I hate everything it stands for. Especially the Manga version. Hellsing at least has more going on for it than the violence and Alucard. Of course I'm more so referring to the manga and the second anime adaption that's more accurate.

I get what you mean, but we'll just have to see what happens. I'd still take it over to the anime you just mentioned. Because even ultraviolent anime from the 80s or 90s lose their place in history and luster at some point. Most of them do, and I'm not a fan of a lot of them either. No different from the ones in the 2000s. Like I said, we'll wait and see. I'm not standing in line so watch it immediately, but if it's good or decent, then I'll give it a shot. But yes, I would prefer an adaption of the original series that are more tongue and cheek.

I really don't know how to feel about this as I'm not a big F4 fan. I take it from your reaction this is not a good thing.
The 2000s movies were okay, but the 2015 movie was absolute trash. Granted all of them were done by Fox and this new one is from Marvel/Disney, but I have a feeling it's gonna be trash. And I'm willing to bet this movie is only happening because of the cameo in the last Dr. Strange movie

I've only seen the F4 Animated Series from the 90s and the first movie. The 90s TV series trumps all of them. I heard the anime from 2006 is actually pretty decent too.

Yeah, and their episodes in Avengers EMH weren't too bad either. Th point is that them in comics and animated series were great. Live-action? not so much

Seconded. There tends to be a lot of overlap between films that did poorly and films I liked (Warcraft, Dredd, John Carter), but this film deserved to fail. All the time and money and resources and reasonably big names could have just been thrown in a big hole in the ground.

Like I said before: only Halloween (1978), Halloween III, and Halloween [II] (2018) exist in my canon.
Kills is still a fun watch as it’s basically just a Michael slasher showcase, aside from all the “evil dies tonight” bs.

Don't think I've seen any, but always seems weird that Halloween III was written by Nigel Kneale, British sci-fi writer. Who wrote Quatermass, and The Stone Tape, and Beasts.

Though, no shortage of horror in his works, but of a very different kind.
