And thus closes the DCEU

I'm still going to see the movie this weekend. I'm invested and it'll be my last dceu movie. I can more than decide for myself. I don't care if it's performing worse than Marvels. It's been a good run. Thanks WBD for screwing it up.

"Sure, this version sucks, but this other version that may or may not ever release is totally awesome, I promise"

Fuck off, you hack. I'm sure your rabid fanbase will happily double dip tho.
I don't know why people who already decided they wouldn't see this movie are bothering with it. It's not part of a franchise you care about and you can very easily ignore it.

While that is true, Zack Snyder's deciding to make a different cut of his movies, which will be really cool this time...it's getting a bit eyeroll worthy.

Hasn't been easy to ignore for me. The algorithms have decided that I will be eternally tormented by anything Snyder creates, for some reason.

But yeah, I'm pretty sure the only reason people give Snyder shit these days is because of the absolute rabid raving mob that his fanbase is. Their outrage at anything criticizing Snyder drives up engagement.

Half of it is outrage from his fanbase, the other half is outrage at the guy making anything.

Far too often, I'd see someone reviewing or commenting on a DC product and just bring up Snyder unprompted, even going as far as saying the writing is clearly taking a jab at him when it isn't. The guys haters are as obsessed with him as his fans are. Arguably moreso.

I ignore both of idiots starting shit. I don't hate the guy and like some of his works, but he really needs to cut it out with the 4 hours director's cut bullshit. He's reliving his little glory moment from JL one too many times.

I dunno about that last bit. But hey, who can say, clearly the algorithms have pigeonholed me into the Snyder-loving space of the internet.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that I believe that the overblown Snyder hate is a reaction to his fanbase. I hated BvS, but I don't think any of his movies are truly bad enough to garner this level of hatred. That hatred came from constantly having to hear about or interact with Snyder fanatics. That doesn't make the haters any more justified than the fans, but this whole cult obsession is clearly unhealthy for everyone.

I'm not touching IGN's crap, but can you give me a short version? Just a yes or no on that they like it. I'm still seeing this movie Saturday.
They gave it a 6 and the comments were saying it played it too safe while having little that made the first one interesting or exciting. Basically don’t expect much and it may be somewhat entertaining.

It has the same vibe from the first movie; Fun and entertaining, but doesn't get too deep.
That's more or less what many critics said about the first movie. Audiences were loving the crap out of the first movie. I sense another critical dissonance. If IGN is giving this a 6 out of 10, then it's an 8 out of 10 for me.

Wait, how is it possible that it has a lower opening weekend than The Marvels?! The latter has three - count 'm three women starring in it, and the former has a super manly looking man WITH A BEARD in the starring role. I call woke psy-op.

Probably because WB announced way ahead of time that they're rebooting the DC universe. So you probably got a bunch of people who felt it didn't matter and they can wait for it on HBO Max.
