I knew phagein is a Greek suffix that means "eater, to eat". But I never put together that the word sarcophagus entailed that something was being eaten.

Sure enough, sarkos is Greek for flesh.

Sarcophagus = flesh eater.

Great name for a coffin.

Also perhaps because the stone they used may have been very slightly corrosive and accelerated decay ("ate the flesh") of the body, though whether that was true or just a thing they believed I don't know.

I don't find this happens as often here but that's mainly because of the way eftpos is handled. But its good advice regardless since a few petrol stations rolled these kinds of things out.

Didn’t realize Japan has never launched a satellite. Try, try again I suppose. The excuse given is interesting though:

"The rocket terminated the flight after judging that the achievement of its mission would be difficult," company president Masakazu Toyoda said.
