I knew phagein is a Greek suffix that means "eater, to eat". But I never put together that the word sarcophagus entailed that something was being eaten.

Sure enough, sarkos is Greek for flesh.

Sarcophagus = flesh eater.

Great name for a coffin.

Also perhaps because the stone they used may have been very slightly corrosive and accelerated decay ("ate the flesh") of the body, though whether that was true or just a thing they believed I don't know.

Lenghty and a bit meandering, but very interesting look into South Korean society using the 'gender war' as a framework

Didn’t realize Japan has never launched a satellite. Try, try again I suppose. The excuse given is interesting though:

"The rocket terminated the flight after judging that the achievement of its mission would be difficult," company president Masakazu Toyoda said.

The company said that the launch is highly automated, requiring only about a dozen ground staff, and that the rocket self-destructs when it detects errors in its flight path, speed or control system that could cause a crash that endangers people on the ground.

"We don't use the world 'failure', because each trial brings us ... new data and experience for another challenge," Toyoda told a news conference
.

Somewhere in the great beyond, Edison smiled.

The 7 days of the week are associated with the 7 classical planets and their associated deities.

Sunday=Sun's day= Helios/Sol(God of the Sun)=The Sun
Monday= Moon's Day= Luna(Goddess of the Moon)=The Moon
Tuesday= Tyr's day= Tyr/Mars(God of War)= Mars
Wensday= Wodan's Day= Wodan/Mercury(God of Magic)= Mercury. Yeah, it's a wierd but that's the logic.
Thursday= Thor's Day= Thor/Jupiter(God of the sky/lightening)= Jupiter.
Friday= Frigg's Day= Frigg/Venus(Goddess of Love)= Venus.
Saturday= Saturn's Day= Saturn/Cronus(God of Wealth and Agriculture)=Saturn.

Might be due to my age, but just realized "Martha" was way hotter than Lois in 2016.

Is this why practically everyone loves Fridays?
