Project 2025 Is a big threat and a big deal. It's only "harmless" to mostly straight white peoplee, Because?
I'll either to be affected the lease or doesn't apply to them at all. They'll certain users here will never understand that and only give a rat's ass about themselves and no one else.
$10 says you'd agree with more than half of Project 2025.

The irony is even though he introduced the STOCK Act signed into law by the Obama Admin, we yet again find ourselves in the verge of another world market crash twelves years later. Nothing changes. The elite only find alternative paths to increasing their wealth, and it happens regardless of political affiliations.

Since “weird” is a new catch phrase of sorts now -

Another irony of course with Minnesota being the state where George Floyd was killed.

The Obamas approve of and likely even encouraged the pick -
“By selecting Tim Walz to be her vice president from a pool of outstanding Democrats, Kamala Harris has chosen an ideal partner – and made it clear exactly what she stands for,” said a statement from Barack and Michelle Obama. “Governor Walz doesn’t just have the experience to be vice president, he has the values and the integrity to make us proud. As governor, Tim helped families and businesses recover from the pandemic, established paid family leave, guaranteed the right to an abortion, and put common sense gun safety measures in place to keep communities safe. But Tim’s signature is his ability to talk like a human being and treat everyone with decency and respect – not all that surprising considering the fact that he served in the National Guard for 24 years and worked as a high school social studies teacher and football coach before being elected to Congress. Like Vice President Harris, Governor Walz believes that the government works to serve us. Not just some of us, but all of us. That’s what makes him an outstanding governor, and that’s what will make him an even better vice president, ready on day one. Michelle and I couldn’t be happier for Tim and Gwen, their family, and our country.”

Yes, but the Trump administration only made it worse and more annoying for everyone else not in the rich elite. I know stock markets experts or anything, but I refuse to vote for the party that became a Nazi-KKK death worshipping garbage cult.

The republicans complaining shouldn't have brought Trump into their party in the first place. They have no right to complain, after all the shit they pulled.

Is abortion less available today than it was a decade ago?
Does the various agencies under the executive have less power than they did a decade ago?
Are there fewer restrictions on money in politics/power/influence than there were a decade ago?

Consider your answers to the above and then consider what 2025 claims to be in favour of.
- Roe v Wade was a bad legal decision regardless of what side you're on.
- Agencies having more power is inherently good?
- The less restrictions on campaign financing happened under Obama and a liberal SCOTUS, I'm assuming you're talking about Citizens United v. FEC. And the McCain–Feingold Act that happened under a Republican presidency was what was overturned during Obama's presidency.

You just can't say that after January 6th happened. This isn't the same party has it used to be, noticed that almost everyone of the old guard in GOP is being kicked out at every opportunity.
Neither are the democrats the same party than when I was growing up, they are now anti a bunch of stuff they were pro about.

And every year they seem to get a bit closer to getting the things they want.
The country over the last 50+ years slowly moves progressive, it hasn't changed.

It's as "dangerous" as it was 40 years ago. It's not a new thing. And it's clear you didn't actually read it and just saw some misinformation on Facebook with outlandish claims.

ITMT: This guy can be pretty scary. Scares me into further support for Trump. Tear families apart in order to mutilate children?
Yep, that's the plan: scare you with lies about opponents & scapegoats to solidify support. The authoritarian playback since time immemorial. And you're very happy to be lied to.

While I won't get into blithering nonsense circular debates, Project 2025 is available online https://www.project2025.org/policy/ and yes I've read it. It's largely random vague bullshit, but mostly they want to do away with any and all consumer & civil protections. You ever see one of those scifi corporate hellscape kinda movies where you pay for oxygen and have to insert your credit card into the bathroom mirror to get toothpaste to come out? Thats project 2025.

One of the funny ironies is that for all our complaints the federal government still protects us from corporate, environmental and fundamentalist abuse. It's not as great as other countries and there's a horrendous amount of waste, but it's nothing compared to what would happen if we eliminated all those safety checks.

They really sort of rely on ignorance. That we don't know how the EPA or department of education works. That we don't understand the ramifications of those things just "being eliminated" or stripped of power. Thats even a general statement. The republican party and fundamentalist groups rely on nobody really have the time or energy to sit down and read over laws, statues, regulations. GOVERENMENT BAD REGULATION BAD DEMOCRATS BAD!

I can tell you anecdotally it removes EPA powers, eliminates the department of education, oddly (is it?) it eliminates protections for racial discriminations in housing.

If we're bringing back ancient Olympic combat sports, I demand pankration. It's basically MMA if MMA weren't so worried about rules and safety.

"Well I guess vote for Trump if you're mad about me giving Israel a blank check to kill".
The problem is that Trump is also going to give Israel a blank check to kill. You shouldn't let a candidate's support for Israel make you choose not to vote for them, because this is one thing that's going to remain constant no matter who wins. It's a valid criticism, but it's not a useful one - they aren't going to change, no alternative with a real chance of winning exists that isn't going to support Israel.

The same group releases the same document every election cycle and they are a conservative group so republicans will agree with some things in there obviously. It's like if there was a liberal think-tank document, the democrats would be for some of the things in there. Why is this document this time some massive threat when it's been happening for 40 years?

Lol @ citing kamalaharris.com as a source. Give me page numbers on the document and where it says whatever you're so afraid of.

What page has the most egregious consumer protection eliminations? Or at least one that is in any way realistic and could happen? It's like how it says to ban porn but that's not realistic. Republicans have been saying to get rid of the Department of Education for 40+ years, why is this year/election any different than the last one?

Democracy leads to tyranny? What on earth do they think we had before democracy?

The point of it was the corruptible nature of human beings is the problem. It’s the reason democracies have never lasted, and why the Framers said when unchecked they fall victim to the same acts of fraud, violence and cruelty. As long as there is money and power to be had, the least deserving will vie for control over everyone else.

Of the eight states of a democracy we’re pretty much smack in between seven (apathy) and eight (dependency), with the next repeating the cycle that we’ve strived to escape in the first place. The only thing that’s really changed is the type of abuse is more ambiguous in nature thanks to the spread of the misinformation age.

Because Republicans have made it clear that they''ll do more to abolish democracy then just write about it this time? And having already tried doing just that last time they lost? And because Project 25 would give them the power to push through their conspiracy theories and overturn elections without it requiring the burden of evidence?
